  Looks like Lata is suffering from a bout of amnesia. Bindiya chamkegi, Aaa jane jaan, Dil Diwana and Jiya Jale in the top 10 for a singer who has sung for SDB, Roshan, Ramlal, Husnlal Bhagatram,Ghulam Haider etc. (MDs not covered in the top 10 list)? I Can understand the reason for the first 2 numbers being included, maybe the passing away of Laxmikanth has something to do with it. As for others, well it is after all the wily old fox wooing the younger composers. She , more often than not, strikes a judicious balance between art/singing and selling.

  Hollywood calling
  Which brings us back to Chiranjeevi. After doing two films in Bollywood (Prathibandh and Aaj Ka Goondaraj), Chiranjeevi has now graduated to Hollywood. The film, an NRI production titled The Return Of The Thief Of Baghdad, will be directed Duchan Jersy, an anthropologist-turned-director. All the technicians, except A R Rahman and Thota Tarini, will be from Hollywood.

  this is nothing new abour ARR copying songs, at least Dinakaran(though one of the lousy news papers, yet read by lot of Tamilnattu makkal and Tamilians all over the world thro' net) has made right note for the first time about his Xeroxing actvities unlike the other mags/papers praising him inspite of his very medicre work these days. Today is the first day i felt happy that Dinakaran also gives some appropriate news especially more happy that lots of ignorant Tamilians who get cheated by these kind of xerox activities by MDs and at the same time end up not having the opportunity to appreciate the original , melodeous, sweet, great musical compositions by some other MDs , especially the young not very literate mass of TN, who think crappy movies like kaadhal desam and songs from those kind of movies are their life. Well everybody has their own liking and dislikings , but as the entertainers it is the duty of these MD's , Lyricists to produce more meaningful, tasteful, loveable songs/music , and help grow our heritage and culture and preserve the great treasures of music imparted to us by so many talented , famous musicians in the past and now.It is not just making money, (especially ARR /Deva) please contribute something to TFM so you will be remembered for ever and have great respect for several generations who are going to be listening to music. ARR's Taalam, definitely upto the mark, Songs from Takshak, as usual lots of recycling, but none noteworthy, none even melodeous surprisingly, Thaalam songs may have suited a bit the hindi(North indian), but Tamil version is just a waste.I usually wish every new MD coming out like another MSV or IR, but in reality every other MD is keen in producing all copied songs contributing nothing but trash to TFM in recent few years.
  
  I think both these Xerox no 1 and 2 , if they concentrate well on movies(not just money) certainly be able to give some good music and I wish them good luck,

  It claims all of the songs from Jodi were copied by ARR from a Hindi album. The album in question is Doli Sajake Rakhna. Music director: ARR.

  Not some songs, just one song - Yaaron Sun Lo Zara was reworked from Babu Love Cheyyara from Super Police . THis appeared as Mammo LOve Pannunga in the Tamil Super Police and Babu Lo Chal gaya in teh Hindi version of Super Police - Khel Khiladi Ka.

  guys,
  recycling his own songs from one language to another is not a crime. IR did it a lot, and I guess, MSV or KVM would have done too. But I have to agree that recently ARR started giving songs with pallavi resembling some old songs. Enna vilai alage from kadhal dinam is infact from thanga padagathin mela oru muthu vidathathu pole. I would like to see ARR stopping doing this kind of gimmicks.

  Varaga nadhi karai oram is in the Qawali style.. so obviously, it would remind one of mast kalander. In fact, if listened carefully, it would also resemble "Dhenna karunaakarane nataraja, neelakandane" song in Nandanaar! But the resememblance is more a function of the same raagam on which the songs are based.
  
  The Dinakaran news is nothing more than a pile of silly gossip. I'd be happier if they could give sources of the songs, rather than plainly accusing ARR as a Xerox-copier kind of person.
