Hunter: Thanks for the link.
His 'nilAp pAthai' article is really interesting. He has written about his egoism and how he is misunderstood in the film industry. I like to read the whole book. Is it available in the book stores in Chennai?

Now .now tell me guys ..will bhArAthi rAja and IR work together again ??..Other than IR one other film personality whom I really like (just like IR for his creative output) is BR..I find the flow in screenplay/story in BR's film is very similar to the flow in IR's music..

MSV is not eccentric guy unlike his counterpart. MSV gets along well with the entire industry. He is friendly with IR/ARR/Deva and sundry and he respects new comers, which the king of music does not want to do..
Instead of writing a book about how he got Sori and Serangu and came up with beautiful songs, why can't he start a music school as a "Dedication" ??

pls dont ever compare IR with MSV/ARR etc etc ---- It is an insult to IR - IR is a genius and he is incomparable.

Vijay,
To me IR is sharing his experience. The fact that despite his health problems he came out with the album(Guru) of the century.
Try to put things in prespective. There are enought music schools and not many composers. Let him keep doing what his intincts say. No compulsion for you to read the book.

vijay: moreover, that was not the entire book. it was what ammalam chose to publish. blame ambalam. everybody gets sori and serangu (you me and gods too) but not everyone works like ir. maybe sour grapes :-(

aruL, IR is just sharing his high moments, moments that gave him a great feeling of gratification and rightly so. This book maybe a peep-in into this enigmatic personality and what his admirers are interested in, IR's own reactions to his compositions.

I think MGR always had a soft corner for MDs. I read recently in a weekly ed of a newspaper showing a MGR handwritten & signed book containing no. of carnatic songs with rAgam, thAlam etc. published as a proof of his interest/ knowledge on classical music. That he had rows with many film & political personalities is a known fact...however, it also appears that he never suppressed or had a great row with any MD (including IR who himself acknowledges this in the book).
...quite an interesting personality, this MGR...he was known to politicians, rich men / film personalities as a tough character (Ramavaram thOttathil niRaya skulls uNdu endRu vadhanthi) but adored & worshipped by poor...many film personalities (including KD I think) had to suffer his superiority but MSV, KVM had a nice time & IR, despite irritating him got away...
Goes on to prove that no one is perfectly good or perfectly bad...
