Can we have a discussion on Unni Menon Songs?

Unni Menon has given us TFM fans some beautiful songs in Roja, Pudhiya Mugam, Kaadalar Thinam, Rhythm, Minsara Kanavu, Priyamana Thozhi etc. He has such a good voice, good diction and ARR really likes his rendition ( hear Kannukku Maizhagu in Pudhiya Mugam)

  Thanka Raj. Most of the songs you listed are super hits and the ones in Roja, Rhythm, Kaadalar Thinam are mega hits. Unni Menon has given extraordinary songs to TFM. He deserves more recognition on this discussion group.

  Unni menon has a bright career in Tamil Filmdom. I'm surprised why in the list of unni's hits his very famous song Kannala meyya meyya Ulle or.... is missing. It is a not to miss hit. Even the latest `Penne neeyum penna' from Priyamana thozi is a hit. Keep singing for us. Wish u all the best.

  his most mesmerizing song is enna vilay alaghe sonna vilaykku vaanga varuven. he really sings the song with emotion and expression...he sounds serious when he says "padaithaan iraivan uniyae...malaithan udanae avanae...azhagai padaikum thiramai mulukka unnudan saainthathu en vili sernthathu"
  
  just truly fabulous. But unnimenon with other music directors have not given good hits...i think rahman gets the most out of him and uses him the best.

  Unni menon-He is very refreshing and clear in pronunciation.his tone is very soothing.
  
  "Mellisaiye enathu uyir mellaisaiye" is a song in the movie "mr romeo",sung by swarnlatha and unnimenon.we can add this to our collection of his songs:)

  I do not know why the TFM surfers are spending so much time on discussing songs by Unni Menon.
  
  Unni Menon's voice totally lacks any emotion or life. There are and have been much better singers in TF industry, but our MDs keep pampering such ordinary or wooden voice. Some body like Madhu balakrishnan who is far superior to Unni Menon, does not get enough chances. ARR does not use Madhu or Harish raghavendra at all. Instead he gives some good tunes to Unni Menon who simply renders those without an iota of emotion/feeling
  
  It's high time our MDs stopped pampering such ordinary stuff. Also they take pain in giving umpteen songs to people like Udit narayan who mercilessly kills tamil- not mention his below par nasal voice. This is the biggest irony in TFM

  I think Mr Sundar has indulged in BASELESS CRITICISM AND thats it.Mr Sundar,greats like Ilayaraaja and A.R.Rahman are not fools to keep giving songs to Unni menon.Its bcos he does full justice to them and renders them with the required feel and emotion.
