Mukkal munagal songs- who's the King?

Mukkal munagal the erotic song genre, introduced in early 80s flourished till early 90s(Lately very rarely showing its head like 'kattipudidaa').

can we list songs of this kind and and see which MD is the king in this genre?

(Even movies like 'Sri Raghavendrar' had a mukkal munagal song like 'unakkum enakkum aarambam').
Let us see which MD contributed more to this society benefetting, eye opening genre.

  Nazir, This have nothing to do with MD. If the context demands this, or director want to push such things, these songs would be used.

  As speaker rightly ponted out, this has nothing to do with MD.
  
  IR can compose for any kind of situation. No doubt he excels in this field also.

  This could be true with new MDs or 3rd level Mds. But why a first grade top notch MD should agree to do such songs? These kind of situations arent new to tamil films, we had them right from the 50s. But this MD started adding mukkal and munagals ..if you remove these animal noises from many of the above songs the songs would have been decent.
  
  He was in a strong position to accept or reject songs or film offers and he could have easily said no to such song situations. Why didn't he?
  
  Atleast in the case of SKV the characters in the song sequence were shown to be intimate..but whats the explanation of adding such noises to dance songs like 'poo potta thaavani' ?
  
  In the film selvi same kind of song was picturised on dongs(MD IR) - how pathetic(or how appropiate?:)

  nr, Mukkal, munagal done by modonna, britney, ricky martin, etc.etc.... they are also established let them do some neat album like elton. Some knowledgable friends may add more. VM has written O podu... the same logic may apply here also.. I see where you are heading.ethavadhu thread podanum enru eruthal, eppadi hi tech computer music s mukkal kodukkalam enru podu.

  We Indians have our own culture. Certain things are not discussed publicly. We dont discuss sex with our kids or siblings or in public.
  Should our society accept to bedroom sounds brought to our living room?
  
  I was 8 yrs when SKV was released and i clearly remember asking my mom when i watched 'nilaa kaiyudhu'..'aemma andha aunty kathuraanga'?
  
  My mom hushed me but later i realised how embarassed she must have felt. There could be many moms like mine.
  
  Being the thespian in music field MDs should not degrade themselves by enhancing such songs with sounds.
  If producers/directors asked sivaji or MGR to do nudity for a particular situation ,would they have accepted? Being thespians in their field they have certain standards and responsibility towards the society and culture.
  
  Btw comparing IR to madonna and britney is a great insult to IR

  IR is majorly responsible for spoiling the younger generation of that time.
  
  Now, people are critisising this generation. We learn from them.

  I would like to note that almost all the movies of MGR/Sivaji had caberet dances kinda or atleast one very intimate song after '65... they were the main heroes who started the trend (following the hindi movies, of course)... low-hips etc etc also came into full flow mainly thru their movies... there is nothing like "Oh-u-know-i-am-very-decent" stuff when it comes to movies.
  
  Nudity hasnt been done in our Tamil movies (un)fortunately but 'semi' is all over the place.

  Vj - have u seen the movie "Manmadha Leelai" - there will be a shot in which the heroine (Allan) will be lying naked (kuppura paduthukittu).... this movie came way way back..... this shot comes after the song "Sugaam thanaaa, sollu kanaeee".... director was none other than the famous KB.....
  
  and Are Yaar - stop it, will you..... the mukkals and munagaaals started way way back itself..... remember the singer LRE - she was famous for 2 types of songs - one was the GOD songs, and another was the *balana* songs..... i really don't want to give IR the credit of a *king* or whatever...... one thing i would agree - the lyrics were kind of *polish* in the olden days, then it got *worser* during IR's days, and now we know what level we are in right ? shall i blame ARR for the song "Rukkumani, Rukkumani", ha ?

  sabesan yes you can blame ARR for 'rukkumani' but remember rukkumani was his first album in TFM. It was his debut and he will not have a say.
  
  But films like SKV were 200th or something movie of IR.
  Producers and directors were at his doorsteps ..he had the choice of accepting and rejecting.
  
  People say now that he is not doing many movies because he doesnt like the stories so what was he doing with SKV or poopotta dhavani? what inspired him to add those mukkings?

  You must be kidding. Was it that vulgur? Come on..it was nicely picturised song and ofcourse MR could have avoided that song, but that was not that vulgur as compared to many songs that came before and after Roja. ARR, most of the time makes sure that he doesn't compose for vulgur songs, atleast he doen't allow vulgur lyrics and mukkal monagal in songs.
  
  Even the Nalai Ulagam, song of Love birds, which has some disturbing shots, has nothing vulgur in Music and lyrics. You can simly listen to that 100 times with children.

  Nazir, all i was trying to point is, IR alone cannot be given the *credit* for mukkals and munaangallss....
  
  Are Yaar - was "Mr.Romeo" by ARR ? watch the songs in that movie and tell me if there is *no vulgarity*...... and also just cause it was *picturized* well, it does'nt mean a song is not vulgar - that would mean "Pon Meeeni, Urugudhey" a decent one then :-)....
  
  i agree IR has his share of "mukkals" and "munangals".... may be he is at the TOP or may be he is not..... but he is *not* ALONE.... each and every MD has their share.....

  Are yaar i was only talking about mukkal munagal songs. I do like his earlier hits.
  Since People were starting thread as "IR king of melody' king of rhythm etc i wanted to have a balance. He is also the undisputed king of MM songs :0)

  Undoubtedly Raaja thaan Raaa idhuleyum coz frankly erotic songs have generally good tune, interludes, singing and when Raaja does it it is pure viagra.

  Do you know ARR 's only erotic number "raakozhi onnu muzhichiruchu" from Uzhavan is inspired from
