Why others can't score carnatic based songs other than IR

I wonder if it is a lost genre in movies or lack of knowledge on the part of MDs(excluding IR- ex. Ivan).

  To compose a carnatic based songs u should be well versed with that first. That is the difference between IR and othere MD's.
  Has any one listened to his Classical Album, with Mandolin Srinivas playing IR's Clasical composition.
  I am trying to get the CD version for clarity. But till today I am not able to get one.
  Its audio rights was with AVM when I got the Audio Cassette.

  Let me make it clear.I never did support JJ for starting a thread like this nor did i "approve his conclusions" just by calling it a "valid doubt" ..mine was just a statement in relavance to this topic..thats it!!..

  IMHO, the title could be:
  
  Why others do not score carnatic based songs other than IR or something like that. There can be a discussion on this right from the chances the MDs get to the guts they have and finally their ability(would be just a prediction based on the present songs of that MD).
  
  Regd Chance and Guts of the MD:
  How many of the present days MD did get the chance to give music in carnatic based films (in TFM im talking about). Even if they get a remote chance how many will be having guts to do that (guts here i mean that not worrying about their future should this carnatic based song be not received well by the audience a MD should accept and provide carnatic based songs, and this point i.e. Guts is not about questioning the ability of the MD). If im not wrong, the only other composer who had a chance to make carnatic based songs was Deva, that was in a film called Cheenu. And, IMO he did not do it well. To my knowledge the only time ARR came bit closer to get a chance to give carnatic based songs is Sangamam. Dont consider his attempts like kaNNaamoochi aenada etc for this discussion. Those songs will qualify for the prediction on the ability clause of ARR.
  
  Given such a situation, i.e. no data for analysis how can we conclude or say that others cannot score carnatic based songs?
  
  Regd. IR's or MSV's or KVM's ability, its unnecessary to talk. It is know fact that they ARE stalwarts in tuning carnatic based songs in their own GREAT FASHION and they have proved it many times. Discussing that is going to be arachcha maavu.
  
  But, in near future if a MD is scoring a carnatic based film song (say, eg cheenu of deva), then a latest IR attempt in this arena can be used to compare to validate(if this method is ok) from audience point of view. Because IR is the latest MD who is a stalwart in this arena that we all know.
  
  But if one asks me to give my prediction about which present-non-ir-md will be successful to give a carnatic based song then i would say that Vidhyasagar has a bright chance. ARR Would definitely do it but what i guess is he might go for a neo-rhythmic pattern (a kind of light touch) which is inherent in him. So some times, some people may/may not like it. That is why I did not vouch for ARR.

  KVM was way ahead of IR in carnatic oriented songs, in present time, marahathamani is a good carnatic MD, of course after IR.

  MSV was rather "mellisai" type of MD, even though he was good @ light classicals, KVM was the hardcore Carnatic MD!
