What Happens when a MD scores music for Director he doesnt like

Guys
There are sometimes out of compulsion or ackward situations a MD has to accept scoring for a film for director whom he doesnt like working with.
For example ARR doesnt like this guy Ravikumar but outof compulsion from Kamal and others he had to score music for Tenali and result is obvious its one of bad albums of ARR !!
What do you say

  For Tenali more time was spent on new lyricisists and two songs were recorded in a hurry on account of ARR'S commitments in LONDON.Moreover in KUMUDAM interview KSR openly praised ARR by saying IR,i yarukku pidikkum?? ARR i ellarukkum pidikkum. Infact it was Kamal who wanted IR for TENALI. So no meaning in what you say...muscat sunder

  I have seen that you people talk about ARR had done 2 songs in huury.
  
  As I remember it was in Karakattakaran, IR done the whole background score and the song on 2 weeks. And Karakattakaran was a super duper hit movie!!

  Mr.Mosquitoe Sundar oops i am sorry Mr.muscat sundar Mr.Ravikumar has to say such things to please ARR otherwise next time he has to book somebody else. Due to ARR market demand dir. like Ravikumar will say anything to please.
  And Mr.Ravikumars music sense is also in question wasting ARR talents and time. Thats why ARR wants to avoid such thick head.
  I read in vikatan or somewhere ARR wasnt please to score for Ravikumar,after that Kamal pacified him.
  And the topic holds for any MD not only ARR.!!
  And I dont want to deviate from the topic.
  Any ARR fan will tell you Tenali score is certainly cannot be compared with his best works like Dil Se or other albums in the past its a very average score. And i havent heard any outstanding sale of the album also.
  Mr.Ravikumar is no music authority for his statement to be true!!

  I agree with you that we shouldn't give any credibility to KSR's words or about his musical sense.He just makes average second rate entertainers.
  
  I'm really surprised that he is the guy who made "Puriyatha puthir".
  
  On previous two instances ARR agreed to work for him because of Rajni.But this time I don't know why he agreed to do this movie considering he didn't have a pleasant experience with Kamal previously.

  During the making of Indian, there was an interview of Kamal in AV or Kumudham. He was asked whether he is singing in ARR's music...to which Kamal answered something like Azhayadha Veettukku Virundhaliyaga poga virumbavillai. All this fight between Kamal and ARR is made up stuff.

  Perhaps in the same Kumudam interview, Kamal remarked IR is his most-fav or all-time-fav or something like that...then when questioned how come ARR for Indian, he remarked `ingE viyAbAram seithu koNdirukkiRarkaL' or something like that...

  During the making of Indian there was also the news that Kamal was threatening to walk out of the movie bcos he had some misunderstanding with Shankar over ARR's music.

  To watch Rajini movies on a first day with a lot of friends is for excitement and thrill.
  
  My biased feeling is Rajini makes up for Director's inadequacies.

  I think, ARR should compose music for directors such as Shankar, Mani Ratnam, Deepa Mehta, etc..
  
  KSR does good movies because of his castings. And the music is usually pretty good as well.
  
  I don't think dat ARR and Kamal work too well, esp after the Indian incident. But for Kamal's movies, ARR is the one that can create such great music. For Marudhanayagam and Hey Ram. ARR would've definitely blown the screen away!! Instead he goes to IR, not to say IR is bad, but.. for a movie which you really want to blow people's minds away, ARR can do that.

  did ARR succeed in making songs for the situations. Never whenever he did that, the film fails. His songs are like an album and directors are inputing those songs unnecessary into the Scenes(Shankar, Maniratnam).I can give u lot of samples. But u guys know that i don't want to critize u as that much fools. If you don't know about the past IR just think about the present. Hi kids recently did u had an opportunity to see BHARATHY, How Well the songs go with situtions. If u guys really a Tamilan if u are worried about our culture being spoiled by our youth in foreign country. U must really a supporter of IR because he saves our Tamil music and giving some valuable songs for the next generations. Don't jump like Monkey from Tree to tree. AR knows that he Would'nt succeed by chalenging IR so he brought Western music and those noisy stuffs saying in the name of trend. So, please AR fans u guys if u don't know who is IR and how valuable he is be quiet don't compare PROFESSIONAL with COPIER. Agains don't come to this tfm with this stupid arguement.

  Well said Tamil Piriyan. IR is the god of all times. Even after holding the numero uno position in Tamil music for nearly 2 decades, he still possesses the stuff to come up with enthralling scores like the ones in "Time", "Kannukkul Nilavu", "Hey Ram", "Sethu" and "Bharathi". That shows the kind of stuff he is made of.
  
  Moreover dont judge the quality of an album by its sales alone. Today with the increasing competition among audio companies and lots of publicity for albums, every "Tom, D*** and Harry" album gets sold easily. That's not the case with IR when he reigned supremo over Tamil music. Did we have forums like this on internet then ? Did we have downloads from the net ? Or atleast did we have CDs then ?
  
  To conclude, it should be said that "media and publicity give the present generation music directors atleast 50-70 % boost".
  
  And, IR stands uncompared in this world of music.

  don't be surprised that KSR directed "Puriyatha Puthir". It was a remake of the Kannada film, Tarka, which was much more gripping.
