  Ajoy Chakraborty is one of the most luminous stars of Hindustani classical vocal music.
  
  He is a guru in the Sangeeth Research Academy, Calcutta which is a premier institution devoted entirely to classical Hindustani music. He is the disciple of the distinguished Munawar Ali Khan, the son of the legendary Bade Ghulam Ali Khan and Pandit Jnan Prakash, a very illustrious musician and guru.
  
  I have been to some of his concerts and his range is mind-blowing. What a voice man!!!

  Don't miss out the program about hey ram's music which is going to be shown on Sun TV. The program title is "Hey Ram's isaipayanam". i.e "hey ram's musical journey. The timing is 9.30PM indian time. It is going to be a treat to watch IR at work after a long time on TV. It is on 26th, after the movie.

  Be sure to catch this lifetime opporutnity. Seeing the trailer alone gave me goosebumps all over. And seeing our dear Sir concentrating on the music playback with the Hungarian orchestra in the background invoked tears!!

  From the day i heard the songs of "Hey Ram", I got a doubt on two songs in that. The instrumental music or instrments used on the two songs "Ram Ram" and "Ramaranalum" seems very modern.Will they fit for the time of 1940s? while "Ram Ram" be a background music song, its ok. but this "Ramaranalum" seems to be sung by the three friends in the movie(i am not sure but guess)Will the instrments used be as per the time of 40s?

  "Isayil todangattuma" , the best of the bests in Hey Ram, a great album by IR, for those who didn't watch the Sun TV's Hey Ram oru "siarappu kannottam", do it right away, BGM pieces in some clips are awesome, I don't know if these were done for the promo ,

  I think IR has not received any National Award for the Best Music Director, I expected it for Devadhai last year or atleast an award for Janaki for "oru naal andha oru naal".

  Dear Friends,
  I listened to the program online at Numtv.com (test run by sun TV online) with lot of interruption, IR has done it again, the great genious has done a great job (based on the BGM scores for the short video clips shown during the program) they are just breath taking ( I would say probably equivalent to 100 devadhai and Mugam kind of movies in just those few clippings, as some body said aptly in the same interview, "narambu vedikkira maadhiriyaana BGM pottirukkar Raja"),
  A sincere request to the webmasters from INDIA if any of u have recorded the program it will be a great treat to every music lover if one of you could upload it on the TFM page,
  
  
  Raja has finally made his mind to treat his fans with the long awaited Symphony music perhaps by effectively adapting the same for this master piece from Kamal,

  It was great. They showed IR in at the Hungarian studio with the Budapest Symphonic Orchestra Playing the music. After it was done the conductor
  introduced him to the musicians and they gave an ovation and it was a great moment. This was followed by his interview. I think some one wil create a new thread and then we can discuss this whole thing

  I saw IR's programme on HeyRam yesterday. I was thrilled to see this great man composing for the Hungary Orchestra.
  
  After that, during the interview, what IR told really moved me to tears. He said at one point (may not be the exact wordings) "Hungary Music composer Sonnar - naan oru Special Composer Enru. Idhai Naanae Sollikkolvatharkku enakku Romba Koochamaga Ulladhu - enna seivathu - intha naatil Ennai Cinema Director enru Muthirai kuthi vittaargal. Ennai / Kamal - ellam sariyaaga use pannuvathu illai. Tamil Nadu muzhuvathum, thamizh isai ketkaamal - including SUN TV - seivathu enru aagivitathu. Antha Hungary Conductor sonnaar - pop-music ellame - plastic music enru".
  
  He also compared computer music with such symphony music using natural instruments as Fastfood Vs. Amma podum saapaadu.
  
  Sorry I could not express what he said fully here. May be someone can put the script in detail here for the benefit of all.
  
  But one thing was sure - IR is really upset with today's Indian Music scene. He has a strong wish to make people listen true music with melodious tunes of the land with suitable instruments. He feels that his / Kamal's talents are not utilised to the full extent by the Industry / Government etc.

  Your intepretation of IR's dialogue is almost correct. In fact, IR reiterates what he has been saying since the arrival of his rival in 1994. To add taste..Pop-music is plastic music. Someones noise is another's music!!!!
