  Few years ago, when ARR was becoming a sensation, GA gave an interview on TV. In that he categorically dismissed ARR and VM. It is interesting to read his comments on ARR now.

  He says his son and Sangeetha (The same old Rasika) are acting in the movie, So I guess he just changed the name of the movie 'Poonjoolai' which is in production for more than five years now., It has music by IR and has two excellent numbers - 'Gaanak kuyilee' By SPB and 'Un paeraik keettaalee' By Yugendran and Bhavadharini.

  Eden, quite frankly, I posted it in here because I was seething about GA's remark about IR. I guess I just wanted IR fans to know what kind of PR IR seems to have. Who needs enemies when one has such a brother? All this coming from a guy who once fell on his brother's feet for him to compose for his films. I didn't post it to rib IR, if that is what you are getting at.

  I have seen several interviews of GA in TV. He is as usual. He talks frankly. He praises every body with out any prejudice. IR fans may take this interview in a different note. I request them to take this as an opinion of a MD cum brother of one of the greatest MD of our times and a frank one.

  IR maintains a distance because of GA's weakness towards few things and his loose talks (Jollu vidum kizham category). People know what sort of image GA has. But his interviews are fluent and enjoyable. No doubt about that.

  Dinakaran says Bharathi Raja is waiting for Rajkiran to finish Nandaa and Paandavar Bhoomi to start working on Maanasthan with Ilaiya Raja. It also says Bharathi Raja was moved when no one was willing to buy '16 Vayathinile' Rajkiran liked the story and came forward to distribute.

  when u say Thangarbaachchaan it reminds me,
  he authored a fantastic book on IR where
  he interviews RAJA on lot of technical aspects of music.
  raja has open heartedly participated.
  at 1 place he says 'IAM LIKE WATER WHATEVER IS
  UR BOWL SHAPE(FILMS) I ACCUMULATE ACCORDINGLY.
  LOT OF OTHER INTRESTING NARRATIONS'.

  Thangarbaachaan has done a splendid job in Bharathi. Every body talked abour IR , Devayani, Shinde and the directors. Even the press mentioned little about TB. But I think, he is the one, for sure , will get a NA for his work in Bharathy. Marvellous lighting and cinematography. Quite natural and not artificial as Hey Ram.

  Of course Veedu was by IR.
  
  Balu Mahendra used his 'How To Name It' score for this award-winning film which had no songs.
  
  I am not sure about 'Sandhya Ragam' though. Like the former, this too had no songs.

  Veedu is not by IR, But as you said, he reused the 'How to name it' score for Background music.,

  Thiruvarasu Puththaka Nilayam has released a new book by Ilayaraja., 'Ilayaraja SinthanaikaL'.,
  
  The book has 25 articles by IR, supposed to discuss divine concepts in paamarath thamizh :-)
  
  Cost of the book is Rs 70/-, I am yet to get the book from Chennai !

  Hey Ram Is India’s Entry For Oscars
  
  Hey Ram, Kamal Haasan’s directorial debut film, has been recommended as the Indian film for the prestigious Oscar Award by the Central Committee constituted by the Film Federation of India (FFI).
  
  Hey Ram undoubtedly had fabulous music by Maestro Ilaiyaraja. Violin maestro L. Subramanyam was originally chosen to do the music, but due to some conflict between Kamal and L. Subramanyam, he switched to Ilaiyaraja.
  
  The committee was entrusted with the task of selecting and recommending a film as India’s entry for the award. The panel, headed by South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce president A. Kothandaramiah, had as its members Ajit Bhattacharya, Anjana Ramesh, P K Bose, Chitra Lakshmanan, T N Janakiraman, K Murari, N S Murthy, K Nandagopal Chettty, Sushma Shiromanee, B S Dwarakish, and Prabhat Pandey, according to a Film Chamber press release here.
