  Poo malarndhida - Tic Tic Tic
  Azhagu malar aada - vaidehi kaathirundhaal(?)
  Gangai karai mannanadi - varusham 16
  Then kondu vandhavan - Enakkul Oruvan (?)

  How come u all forgot about the One and Only Bharatanatyam dancer Mayuri...
  
  she acted in a few movies rite?
  
  can't recall the movie names..but her acting..especially the one where blood comes from her knee while dancing...fuuh..can't forget that man...

  In old movies (50s and 60s) barathanatyam songs were almost a regular feature. mostly stage shows or the king's chamber etc. after the advent of colour films, few directors took it to the villages.
  like 'Thokai Illa mayil' from payanangal mudivathillai, 'Maanjolai Killithaano' from Kizhakke Pogum rayil etc. these were duet songs with only the heroines in bharathanatyam dress.
  
  its also a beauty to see saree clad heroines doing a few barathanatyam steps in songs like the one Jayaprada dances in Salangai Oli. Another similar dance is in the movie Vaazhve Maayam for the song 'Vandanam En vandanam'. Its a great song and its well picturised too.

  these two songs are very popular in school programs and social functions, for barathanatyam dances, in recent times.

  Venkatesh, I've done Kaatrodu Kuzhalin and Aadal Kalaiye, but not Vaidehi Raman.. maybe i should choreograph something for that.

  madurai veeran?

  kondai ranganatha' from 'raja thesingu'.
  
  'vasantha mullai pole vanthu asaindu aadum pen
  purave' from sarangadara
  
  'kaathiruppan kamala kannan' from 'uthamaputhiran'
  
  'maadhavi ponmayilal thokai virithal' from 'iru
  malargal'
  
  and several others. as some one has mentioned in
  old tamil films, especially pre-1962 there was
