Why Tamilians are Fanatics?

We, tamilians are fanatics. We feel great guys are God. If we surf around this newtfmpage, people already have made IR as a God, JJ is worshiped, MK is venerated and Superstar is super God. They are great achievers and unique in their style. They all are charismatic figures but are not God. Very few articles/forum really talk about the real greatness of their deeds. We simply say he is great or he is bad. IR is one of the best musicians. And so are RD Burman, SD Burman, and numerous local and international figures.

Everybody made their money by using us, the fanatics.

Is it wonderful being a fanatic? Does it not create any division? This simple factor ruins everybody's life. Politicians make merry by instigating this.

Should we not be careful in not brining this fanatic to what ever we write?

  Idol worshipping exists all over the world. Have you heard of Graceland, the shrine for Elvis in the US? Have you heard of Elvis' sweat being sold in small lockets? Haven't you heard of women lining up and offering themselves to Rock'n roll musicians backstage at concerts around the world? So, first you should get off the grand generalization, it obscures the issue you want to discuss and displays a surface judgement on your part.
  
  Yes, it irks me to see someone claimed as God. But I've learned to take it as the highest superlative one wants to bestow on his idol. To imagine that people literally pray to their favorite artists is losing a sense of perspective. It's a figure of speech, like "I'm going to kill him when I see him", these words aren't carried out or meant literally, these words are just expressions to show the extreme feeling felt.
  
  As long as we're open to other points of view, allow for others to have their own favorites, there's nothing wrong with a touch of fanaticism in us. After all life beats us down with its blunt stick of ritual everyday, why not show some passion for our favorite artist, music or sports team? Life is for the living.
