Query Regarding Singaporean Artistes

Does anyone here know what happened to Mohd. Rafi, the Singaporean singer? I believe he actually released his own albums in the 80s (were "Jo Muniandi" & "Vachikko Vaadi" his?). I heard he also sang for ARR's ESK, though I have no confirmation it is actually him. Though I have been out of touch with what's been going on in Spore for the past few years, I believe Mohd Rafi is out of the scene now? Can Singaporeans & Spore residents here pls update me on wat's the latest and who the present singers are (both the good & the bad). Thanks in advance.

  I very well remember enjoying Mohd Rafi's singing in Singapore TV, during 1996/97. He is a talented singer. Eager to know his whereabouts / latest releases now.

  Harris was not very famous when he sang for "Theem Thaaka Theem" tv variety show in singapore...he sang couple of songs on the show which was broadcasted sometime in 87-98 period..
  
  As for mohd rafi, I think after en swasa katre, he sang "seniyore" in Kannathil Muthhamital & the recent "intha kappakilange" for dhool...

  Are "Mastana Mastana" and "Theem Thaaka Theem" newer versions of the ever evolving Sat 6.30pm once oli oLi (or oLi oli? but i remember the local straits times tv guide always printed it as 'oil oil'), then maalai mathuram before many attempts by various producers to revitalise the show. (wonder wat the latest version is called)
  
  Wasnt Mohd Rafi's first album called Breakthro or something? The thing tat makes me remain suspect abt his role in the TFM songs mentioned, is the fact tat his trademark deep & manly voice is missing. I'm trying to hunt down breakthro (if tat's correct) and the other albums i'm talking abt. If i succeed, I'll upload the songs here.

  as for dhool, he has sung the opening malay verses of the song "intha kappakilangey"...

  Thx for confirming this EV. I think Jo Jo Muniandi was from Breakthru and Vachikka Vaadi is from karuppayee.

  Both the dj & singer mohd rafis are different. I heard the dj mohd. rafi is from India. The singer mohd rafi still sings on tv and also does roadshow kinda activities with his brother mohd. bashir & mohd. noor.
