About Bharathiraja's old telugu film....

......called "Seethakokachiluka" starring Karthik and Aruna (I think). I know that it is a remake of "Alaigal Oiyvathillai", but I have a couple of questions for the telugu version.

1)Did IR give any "new" songs in the telugu version besides the dubbed tamil songs?

2)I heard that Balu Mahendra did the cinematography for this film. Is this true? I never knew Bharathiraja had Balu as his cameraman for his films. Please let me know this.

3)Was this telugu version a frame-by-frame remake of "Alaigal Oiyvathillai"?

  1.yep the songs were same. I am not sure about the oram po one though.
  2.nope it was kannan as usual
  3except for muchetlla aruna for radha it was almost a carbon copy.

  I think the Tamil film followed Telugu. Meaning it was first made in Telugu, followed by Tamil.

  THERE WERE A FEW DIFFERENT SONGS-
  a recycle of vengaya sambarum for vadi en kappa kizhange
  a song called sagara sangamame in place of dharisnam kidaikkadha-this was new song.

  In IMDB.com, Balu Mahendra is indeed listed as the cameraman for this telugu movie. So, is it true or just a mistake on imdb's behalf?

  Dinesh, Intha kathai than vennam engirathu.The movie was remade in telugu after the thumping sucess of the tamil original. Of course karthik went by his asal name of Murali there.
  Thanks yaaro for the info. because i had seen sita koka chillaka i had a feeling that vaadi en kappagazhange was not there( it is another matter I referred it as oram po(!) in my posting)
