Which music director doing well in 80's other than IR?

To me i feel that T.Rajender did very well in 80's. All the songs were super hit. People will buy his audio cassette without listening to it. Do you agree with me? Or else do you have any other MD who did very well after IR.

  Actually TR gave very good songs during that period. They say that he composed the songs and tunes by singing. For exmaple, instead of writing a piano piece, he will sing and the pianist needs to understand it and play it.
