Dear Common Friend:
One has to really appreciate your energy levels ...I have been watching for probably 2 years or so..you have been tireless in your efforts in browsing every thread every day and posting to demean Ilayaraaja whenever anyone remotely appreciates him.. Hats off to you.
I would think this obsessive energy shoulbe be driven by such powerful personal hatred toward Ilayaraaja...
God Bless You....

krish, I think Common Friend has a serious problem. He has to change his identity to Common Enemy, that way he will not be confused as to what he is really. Plus, if Common Friend can take a break and be with tbe Common People than be Common Salted in the privacy of his non IR music library, that that is what will be Common Sense. Otherwise, Common Friend (Enemy) should go to ER and then he can return here as a CommonER.

IR's telugu movies in future:
1.Sabhaash ( with Akkineni Nageswara Rao's
grandson Sumanth ) as a police-officer.
2.Love in Ramoji Film City ( Venu in the lead)
3.Balakrishna's period movie.
4.Abhishek
That's all I know...
In the film "Seshu", for which Yuvan is the MD,
he used IR's tune "Nenachu Nenachu" from Sethu
in the movie....just for the sake of info.

ha..ha..ha...
>>>I have been watching for probably 2 years
I am probably just 10 to 11 months old here.
I expected these reactions and honestly I posted just for that. Just come out of your self for a moment and read your postings. If you knew any thing called "being reasonably unbiased" then better have it in you. I have it and I have displayed it many times....yes I admire ARR and I have admitted it too. Don't come in for rescue for all those fanatic fans and don't attact a person, attact his postings.
Give a chance and hearing for other MDs too.
Building an image of IR as if he will do only films that have "Gyan peet award" winning story is too much.
His is as commercial as others and he has done many crap films than good ones. Songs being good in few of them is a different issue, but to say that "Another thing which Raja always want is good story. Then only he will accept it." is too much. Having seen SP mahendran's postings (NOM for him in any way), I thought of responding him in this way.
Another CF:
Thanx for you suggestion. I will definitely call for your further suggestion, if I think of changing my nick name. At pressent I have no idea of doing so.

Not that I disagree with you, common friend, but a line of defense for SP Mahendran - I think he means that IR accepts movies with good stories these days - Not always...

Yes, this I agree. His kasi, kutti and azhagi are good examples. I think he should continue this way and try to associate himself with renouned directors in south and north. He should score music for directors who's film will more or less have a show during festivals. IR did not do that before and that I believe is a greatest mistake. Had he done that, with his brilliance in BGM he would have been in far higher place that many of his comtemporaries like LS, RS and even ZM.
Its better late than never.

atlast I got a new american friend who is doing is Masters in music at my university.....I gave him "How to name it" and asked him to comment on it....he made me see new dimensions in that album.....for example in "I met Bach at my hhome" and "And We had a talk" U could see a lot of carnatic based phraces and if u notice keenly u can see a lot of WCM in the background all those western parts are scores of Bach's symphony it seems.....raja has composed it like a conversation where Bach speaks thro his symphony and Raja thro' carnatic music!!!!!
Isn't this great?....will talk in detail abt that album later.....Rajs music evokes emotions not only out of Indians......My american friend was in tears when he heard How To Name It......
Esp. the "Shanmugapriya part" in the track How to name it.....

Guys
Watched the movie "Aboorva Sagotharargal" yesterday.... BGM was very very moving - the beauty being Raaja did his music just with his flute. (Final scene when Kamal goes to prison)....Unbelievable ---Raaja's music makes everybody emotional.

I too really wanted to know wat is the strife between IR & VR , i know there is a misunderstanding but what led them not to work together , can some body enlighten .
- From: Isai Priyan (@ 157.95.211.50)
on: Tue Mar 12 11:40:56 EST 2002
I heard from somebody that the rift started with an arguement like you have to compose the song for my lyrics and the other saying you have to write the lyrics for my composition(for a movie which was not even released later).
Again I am not sure at all.some body confirm...

Our driver in Madras is from Madurai, where Caste Feelings are quite strong. BR and VM are Thevars, whereas IR is an SC (Scheduled Caste). Those too castes hate each other. My driver had this feeling that they still have this animosity (or shall I rather say "uneasiness"). Maybe not the main reason, but one of the main reasons.
As an aside, my driver being a thevar, said that in his town, the tea shops will serve the SCs with different cups, and they should clean it themselves!! What a shame!!!

when IR & VM were reaching new heights in 80's, VM suddenly wondered why IR was paid so much when he was not. he assumed that their contribution was equal. he asked the producers for more, IR left him out, VM was reduced to penning lyrics for dubbed movies till ARR came into the scene. however, VM pretends that he does not know why IR distanced himself in every interview. and IR keeps a strange silence giving enough fertile soil for speculation. this is what i read in one of the forums
