Hi Everybody,
You should all know one thing...ARR is the India's #1 music director right now...IR, Deva...and others are know only in S.India :-)

Hi guys..
ARR is really good. Hear the song, `SenkAthE..' from TajMahal. Sung wonderfully by TK Kala, it is wonderfully composed. `Aathey.. Aathey...' chorus by male support voice is well handled by him. It conveys the pain and agony of the heroine nicely. And the `variyAdi vAriyAdi..' in `Kizhakke nandavanam' is very melodious; actually, it resembles one of the 1960's song's chorus voice. ARR has the best band of `harmony' female and male singers. (Ganga, Febi, et al)

hi guys
ARR songs are great. Deva and ARR are similar but they are diffrent. Deva is a foolish copier, ARR is an intelligent copier. ARR takes different tunes from many songs and composes a single song so that fans can't find the root. Deva just copies a single song like a XEROX.

i think arr is a good musicians, his musics are all modernized.but obviously he can never compete with isaingani ilayaraja.i diasagrees with previous response saying that other music director is only known in india.not for ilayaraja,i guess, maybe deva.

hi
whatever you'll comment i still think that ARR is still a class above the other directors of india.DEVA can produce music in 10 movies but only 1 or 2 movies become hits. in AR RAHMAN he tries his best and gives 100%.so you'll can't say that he is copying tunes from others .others are copying from him.Bye.

HI
There is a song in Mudalvan that has a similarity with a glorious track of John Williams Phantom Menace-Episode I? The CD of Episode, Track #2 has a haunting chorus melody piece supported by the full strength of the London Symphony Orchestra. The lyrics of the chorus are in Sanskrit. And I heard one of the Mudalvan songs has a near hear alike chorus interlude. Can some one confirm this?

The song "Azhahana Ratchasiye" in Mudalvan is similar to the song " Thalaiyai Kuniyum Thaamaraye" in Oru Oodai nathiyahirathu film by
IR in ragaa R.G. any comments??

I think arr's movie know days gone drop because a lot of arr release this year.
If arr compose music for 2-5 movies per year,it will be hit because arr can fokus into very well.Examples like in 1998 jeans and uyire only were release
and be very popular. Other than that arr's music is very good.Arr always take long time for a movie. But deva's music not same, his music different from others.Deva can do a good job in a short time either moden or village type.
It is because deva have experience in music industry.Arr's music is very good if
he have long time to do.So don't think deva or arr never done a good job.Arr's music is very good but deva's composing is very good.
current arr releases:
en swasa katrea
jodi(doli saja ke rakna)
padayyappa-flop
kadhalar dhinam
sangamam-
talam(taal)
earth/1947-flop
takshak-flop
taj mahal
mudhalvan

I don't understand how you people can think that ARR accepted a lot of movies and that's why he hasn't composed upto his potential. Some of these films started 2 years ago. Are you telling me that 2 years is not sufficient for ARR?! Give me a break. Why look for excuses? I don't think that he has lost his greatness but the way you all look for excuses for his recent releases just remind me of hardcore IR fans praising his unworthy albums.
Don't get me wrong. I have nothing against any MD. I am just stating my feelings.

Rehman's music is melodious. But he always copies old tunes and skillfully uses them as his own.
Take, for example, Sangamam. The song by Janaki contains, pieces from Jish Desh Main Ganga Bahthi Hai, and other films. He even copied a tune from A.M. Raja in "Aadatha manamum aduthey".

Review of dil hi dil mein ( hindi kadal desam). The review shows how much south indian and north indian music taste differs. While, roja roja and kadhal ennum are the greatest hits in tamil version, and no one liked dandiya in tamil version, it appears to be not the case with this reviewer.

The most irritating part of the review was the reviewer's use of the word "typical". He cites 'Swarnalatha's Dola Pronouniciation' as that of typical South Indian pronounciation.
review
--- Dola dola is composed well, reminding you of a golden oldie, but it jars because of singer Swarnalatha’s typical South Indian diction, especially the words Dola dola are irritating to the ears.
I hate to see that arrogance in these 'North Indian Reviewers'; when they stereotype everything about SOuth Indians...

It is ok. Dont we bash udit, lata, asha and others for their atrocious diction. But In general, i agree with you on the tone of his language.

Did you guys notice that 'rojA, rojA' (from Kadhalar dhinam, I guess) sounds like a bit from 'sipi irukkudhu, muthum irukkudhu' ?
The tune is from somewhere in the middle or end of a charanam, not the pallavi.

Guys,
Did u hear JODI songs? He has just recycled his own tunes. One song was just a replica of KUCHI KUCHI RAAKAMMA and the other one AALALA GANDA from SANGAMAM. He's exhausted. What he's doing nowadays is just a collage work- Composing a music just by joining bits and pieces!! Time and again he has proved that many times!!

i found that on the first hearing of the song."roja roja" has some resemblence with "sippi erukudu muthu erukude" but the way he has added other sounds lets everyone hard to guess.ARR is good in copying song and make it as new one.but it is a good song!!!

Here is an article that appeared in Times of India On Nov 3rd.
"
A.R. Rahman: Impressing Lord Webber!
Our dynamo-of-talent, music man A.R.Rahman is sure impressing all the right people. First it was Michael Jackson who was taken in by the music of Rahman; and now it is none other than the maestro himself.
Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber (the world renowned composer responsible for the tremendous musicals `Phantom of the Opera', `Ms. Saigon', Starlight Express', `Evita' and `Cats' among other internationally known plays); himself knighted `Lord'; was so taken by the music of `Taal' that he called up AR at once to congratulate him. And that wasn't all. In tandem with Rahman, Lord Webber has at once begun work on a musical project called `Bombay Dream', which will be heavily inspired by Indian music. So that's yet another feather in the multi-talented cap of the young Rahman. Any more and he might fly too. And aren't we ever so proud for him?

Ragaprian..
a very good news indeed..
but i hate to read the reviews of Dil Hai Dil mein..
the reviewer does not have a sense of diction and talks anything..
his penchant towards music produced by Anumalik and the gang is completely exposed!!!!
