What is the best decade for the singing of SP in his whole career?

For me, it is the decade of 70s that is the most enchanting era of his singing, closely followed by 60s and 80s. The worst decade has been the 90s.

  Undoubtedly MSV's songs during early 70's,IR's songs from late 70's to early nineties with films like Veera , Nandhavanatheru to round up.
  Esp his stint with IR's songs in Telugu gave him a very good "theeni" to his versatility

  It is not a convincing argument that whatever SP sang for IR is the cause of his greatness. He sang excellent songs as well as most dull and listless songs for almost all composers.
  
  The aspect worthy to be looked into is: what quality makes for his enchanting, elevating songs and what trait causes his non-serious, lifeless and profligate songs?

  Is not it that almost all the bad songs of SP are marked by "gimmicks" and that too of excessive and superfluous nature?
  And almost all the great songs by him are marked by those versions of voice that has, in all cases, extremely rich and sonorous timber, and crafted in an extremely precise and masterly way. This sensitivity of art and craft, coupled with a humaneness of spirit that is difficult to explain, always wins the heart of a listener who has even a slight claim to sensitivity of soul.
  So huge is the difference between the good and bad songs of SP.
