Ilaiyaraaja is in New York to record music for Mumbai Express. Siddarth will crank the camera, while Ashmit Kunder handle the editing. `Vikram' Dharma will be the stunt master.

  Have they confusedly mixed up IR's presence in New York for the Thiruvasakam project with that of his work for Mumbai Express ? or is IR actually BACK in NY for Mumbai Express ?

  wow wow wow........AR rahman said in interview ...that usually when they finish COMPOSING for one movie , for the next movie still the old compositions will be in brain and might influence the new compositions.........that means ........so now after composing thiruvakasam IR brain will be full of such high level symphonic compostions....which will influence and mix with composing for MUMBAI EXPRESS ........that means MUMBAI EXPRESS will be one great album.....

  Usually IR goes to hungary for some complex tunes....even for ramana BGM he went , for LAJJA BGM he went ...
  
  like that now since he recently worked in NEW YORK for TIS , maybe he decided to record some there ...with the advantages available there.......

  Raaja did go for Hungaray during Ramana time but not for BGM !!!
  
  I think Lajja's BGM was done in Mumbai - of source SYmphony orchestra was used ...

  Illayaraja was in NY at sony recording theatre to complete the recording of his Thiruvasagam symphony. He was so thrilled at the quality of the recording that he decided to do his future movie recording in the same place. Infact he didnt want to come to NY just to record (tunes were ready and notes were prepared in chennai itself), but after looking at the quality of the thiruvasagam output he changed his mind.

  1. Thiruvasam has 6 tracks. 2 Carnatic based, 2 Hindustani based and 2 Tamil Folk song based
  
  2. Thru mumbai express IR is set to come for another complete round... but this time more in Hindi than Tamil

  Good for IR. With albums like Karagaatakaari he has a lesser chance to "come another round" in TFM. Maybe with Divorcee and Mumbai Express he would make another valiant attempt at making an impact in Bollywood
