IR's BGM Compilation

It is well known that IR has provided some excellten BGMs over the last 20 years. Why is it that we are not seeing a compilation of his Soundtracks? Wouldn't it be a treasure? Are there any marketing issues involved here?

  Ir has answered tht he is not intrested in releasing his sound tracks as he feels that if he releases some peopel mat us e it for Tv Serials which will depreciate the value ....

  MR, though we enjoy BGM, we cannot associate the BGM bits with that of MD. So if IR releases it, jolly well people will copy but still could not identify the source. Whereas for Songs, since the bits are well recognized, it is hard for anybody to blatently copy them.
  
  Incidently, you mentioned Tv serials, the title song is only MD, bgm by another. bgm fellow has one or two bits , for every scene the same music played. Sheer torture!!

  Yesterday, I saw Agni Natchathiram. What an awecome BGM. Did u notice that there is seperate BGM for each situation/character in that movie,
  
  Nirosha and karthik whenever they meet(i love u)
  Seperate bgm Prabhu and amala(kiss scene..)
  When prabhu arrest karthik..awesome.
  
  In particular, I liked the BGM when Disco Santhi visits VKR & Jangaraj. I kept playing it again and again. any opinion?

  Thalapathi tops the chart when it comes for Isaignani's background music.... what a re-recording.Santhosh sivan once told that Raja is the only MD who did justice to his picturization... He is very much disappointed with ARR's work for Uyirae, so only he didn't agree his name as a MD for Ashoka...

  oh! then why santhosh sivan didn't ask IR to do music for Ashoka? Does he feel that anu malik gives great BGMs than IR and ARR?

  these people(directors cinematographers etc) just for the sake of saying claiming IR is the King, ARR is the King etc.
  
  For IR his BGM, his music says that he is great. No need of others to say.

  In 1993-94, there was this Hindi DD serial telecast around noon. I had to undergo this torture because it was at lunch during the Ind-WI test matches. I think it was 'Shanti' but I am not sure. This stupid serial used 'How To Name It' left, right and centre.
  
  Now wonder IR is apprehensive to release BGMs.
