Ilaiyaraaja and Rajini

This is prove that they are still very good friends. There were previous reports saying that Rajini has always wanted IR for all his movies but IR turned them down saying that he already gave all his best to his previous films and didn't want to do anymore. There were never any hard feelings on both side. Whenever Rajini does not get the deal from IR, it is always on amicable level as they are good still very friends.

  ARR is busy to avoid paltry things like "Anniyan" and these functions.. but can sneak in for Nadiga Sangam organized events such as the Thanks-giving ones and of course Bolly and Hollywood ventures like Swades and Lord of the Rings.
  
  Baseline is he is far from busy these days to be recognized.

  P.Vasu movie, a Sivaji Production movie.. apart from the fact that it is a Rajini movie.
  
  I am still hoping for Vidyasagar to be replaced at least to save from people hearing a hapless Udit Narayan and a mis-fit Manicka Vinayagam singing for Super star.

  IR and Rajini have always been friends I guess.
  Also professional jeaulouy and ego should never play a role in marriage,birth and death -
  
  IR and Rajini know these very well.
  For example, when BR was vehement against Rajini, Rajini was one of the first ones to attend his mom's funeral. That moved BR a lot.
  
  Similarly IR being a staunch Ramana Bhakthan, knows about these well I guess.
  
  The only thing he hates in cine world is hypocrisy which is rampant these days (like that stupid Thangar Bachan - who really needs a leash to his mouth).
  
  The only surprise though is MK not attending the function despite getting personal invitation from Rajini and latha. I guess there is his maturity level.

  The biggest problem that Rajini has is his 'fans'... I mean, before he has to do or say anything, he has to think about his fans... that's a pity... the fans should understand that Rajini does not have to do whatever they want him to do and does not represent them and he has the right to think, say and do whatever he feels right, like everybody else. Right from day one, Rajini has not shown any intentions of getting into politics.. it's the politicians who brought him into the limelights... we should not blame him for playing with his fans emotions... it's only his fans and the politicians who play with his emotions...and made him do the things that he didn't want to do... Yes, it's true that in 1996 he spoke against Jayalalitha but it's also true that later MK and his 'buddies' hurt him more than what Jayalalitha did to him... This time he had to take J's side because of MK's alliance with Ramados...and again he did that to support his fans... I am not a big fan of Rajini as an actor but as a human being, he stands very high compared to the rest.... see, after all these dramas, he still invited J, MK, Ramadas etc to his daughter's weddings... he is a marappom mannippom kinda guy!

  The thread is about Maestro Ilayaraja and Rajini. Let's not digress and start a healthy debate on why IR was not there in any of the Rajini movies after Veera (A Great musical HIT.. Accepted by Rajini himself in the 100th day function that IR's music played a major role in the movie's success).
  
  Is is that Raja has denied the offer every time Rajini came to him or Rajini has lost his senses in going for Craps like Deva for Baadshaw and Arunachalam.

  Very well said, I could not have said it any better, some lunatics fans of Rajni excpects way too much from him, they make decisions for him, utterly idotic, if any one was in Rajni sir place now, I don't think they would handle the situation any better.

  Fans know these artists only thru their works [acting, music etc] and very soon this liking transforms into infatuation and they start living in their her's disguise and whatever they feel, they want the artist to do also!
  LET SANITY PREVAIL!!

  Of course its damn sure that there is a silent hard feeling remains between IR and Rajni. I had news(or rumors)that its Rajni who denies IR for his films.
  
  Both of them had some "urasals" years ago,
  Switch your memory for the clash that happend in public on one function when Rajni comment about "I would like to live like IR and he's working in Air condition everywhere in house,car and studio unlike we actors!"
  
  Raja's return was " come and try musis for a film and u people know how hard it is" [not exact words but the matter is that]
  
  and at that time Rajni had no choice and keeping this in mind once he had success with Deva and ARR , he is dare to ignore IR.
  
  No loss for Rajni No loss for IR .
  
  Huge losses for us.

  Supporting Senthil Kumar's views is the fact that Rajini can't stop Ilayaraja's music from taking accolades for the movie more than his own image (eg: Veera, Uzhaipaali).
  
  Since he had political aspirations that time, image is important than music to him. Now at least after his "Thairyalakshmi" like comments on the CM.. he can might as well shelve his poltical moves and concentrate acting like Amitabh and work again with Ilayaraja..just for his fans who love Raja's music

  Cho, it was Rajini who enacted all the dramas about his entry into politics since early 90s. I still don't know what wrong JJ did to him but Rajini issued so many statements and so-called "punch dialogues" in his movies against JJ. Finally Ramadoss called his bluff and since MK didn't do anything, Rajini was left with no option but to make up with JJ. What Rajini did is the equivalent of apologizing to JJ. If anyone is the marappom mannippom kinda person here, it is JJ!

  I doubt Rajini will ever go back to IR. Though IR has given quite a few hits for Rajini, most Rajini fans and others expect Annamalai and Baasha kind of music for Rajini movies. These movies set the trend and expectations for Rajini movies since the 90s. Both of these were by Deva and they delivered the goods as far as the fans are concerned.
