Song 1 : Azhagana Sooriyan - Sujatha
Starts with a cool groove and Sujatha's melodious voice picks up. Quite pleasant. Too early to pass judgement.
Song 2 : Colour Colour - Chitra Sivaraman?
Quite in contrast to the earlier song's
voice ..interludes are richer..not just electronica..strings et al..sounds like the digital avatar of IR..
Song 3 : Holiday Jollyday - the man himself YSR
Cool congo fill ins...touches of jazz, rhythm and blues mixed with pop and rock....the second charanams take you back to the 60s...definitely he has been asked to take clues from Mambowhatsisname?and Ricky Martin.
Song 4 : Kutti Kutti - Sadhana Sargam
The beat is similar to the "Koothu" number from TI but has got some interesting developments...quite melodious
Song 5 : Manja Kaatu Maina - Karthik?, Sadhana Sargam
One of the best numbers in this album...definitely to feature in all the top 10 countdowns...
Song 6 : Sadu Gudu - HH, BD
Nice folkish number..with touches of his "Vathikuchi"...
Wouldnt like to judge on my first hearing...a quality album..I'll give it a few more hearings...my favourites are Colour Colur for its music and Manja Kaatu Maina...Sadu Gudu may come into my list...
"Dheena" had better hooks into the songs...this album seems to miss it maybe because the subject of the film rules out any possibilities of techno-wizardry and with Prabhu Deva slipping out of his dancing shoes and donning on Romantic gear...but this is only my first hearing

Highly technical! Superb arrangements.
Tunes are somewhat familiar to us. But I'm sure they're not lifted from any source. YSR's add another feather to his 'Crown'. Class one purchase. Invest.

Manadhai Thirudivittai is a kuppai...Since i am busy right now, Wait for some time, i will give the source from which this album's songs are lifted!!! If i am in good mood i will rate this album as 0.5/10.
YSR, please grow up!!! May be consider stopping music composition.

Swara Priyan is obviously another Gnaanasooniyam. If you think YSR needs to consider stopping music composition, WHy are you listening to his songs? Maybe you should consider stoppping breathing

"Manja Kaattu maina " is really cool. This is the only song I have heard till now (source TV).
Its a good catchy tune. Only problem is that the background has some electronic sound that you almost loose the lyrics and the voice in the middle. This is the problem with both the brothers. They need to do some think about good sound engineering.

I think that YSR is going to make it big. Hasn't ARR produced some god awful albums in his time? I don't think that MTV is anywhere near as bad as some of ARR's albums. And YSR hasn't got any lifts in his music.

Had a chance to listen to the album. Here are my first observations,
* Moderate beat patterns unlike Dheena.
* No Udit's or Sukh's, which is a big relief; though Sadhana Sargam is used (could have used Chitra or Sujatha)
* Three songs stand out and done very well,
--> Manja kaatu Maina
--> Sadugug aadathe
--> Kutti Kutti pani (great charanam)
In total, an album worth listening and buying. A bad thing is, Prabhu Deva being the hero :-(
PS : Looking forward to listen to Nandhaa

Wonderful Album. It took my breath away to hear music of this quality from such a young guy. I am happy that I will be able to hear his music for many more years to come.

where can i get the mp3s of MTV (except tamilmp3world.com)?
raycas
p.s.: i have heard the songs, downloaded from tamilmp3world, i would like to make a cd out of it, but the software i have doesn't recognize the mpeg audio files, which they have at tamilmp3world.com, as audio files, so i need real mp3s!)

Guys I really appreciated the songs in MTV. I have become a big fan of YSR as I feel that he is genuinely putting his full concentration and efforts into his music.I am anxious to see the movie butit is not yet released here in UK.But YSR is a very popular person here since his interview which he gave here and also due to his garage song in Thulluvatho Ilamai.I actaually have caucasian and black friends who listen to Ithu Kathala.

Hollyday Jollyday is a peppy song.
All others are not worth the investment.
YSR should try different styles and voices instead of sticking on to the same Hindiish and Tanglish style of stupid singers. The music sounds monotonous and gets boring with same keyboard tones and monotony.

Bala, this seems to be a bit of an ignorant post by you.Did you not hear Nandha?YSR's latest offering and in my opinion, his most mature and best to date? Live instruments have been used throughout and the voices and classical style of the album make it a hit.As well as being a surprise package from YSR by being completely different from anything he has ever done!
