OK! Here it is!
Due to the usual time constraints, the concert started late around 103. pm only and in the available time the group tried its best to as many songs as possible, sometimes even starting from the 'charanam'! Sujatha was fabulous and literally carried the mass with her sweet voice especially when she 'asked the crowd a question'.... I mean 'unnai onRu kEtpEn'!!
Srinivas was in his usual elements and gave some nice SPB numbers.
The crowd was sort of impatient and one could sense the decline in taste among the listeners when they started demanding songs like "O pOdu", "appadi pOdu" etc when this group was well prepared with the old time classics.
Or perhaps, they had program charted out in such a way that they start from the old and come to the present at the end to leave the crowd with a good vibe!
But, it was not meant to be, unfortunately!!
The hall had the county audio regulations which allows mikes only upto 11.30 pm and they graciously extended it till the midnight but just when the group was really getting into a flow rhythm, the mikes were cut off at 00.10 am and the concert came to an abrupt end which must have displeased the artists as well as the crowd.
On the whole a spirited but short concert!
It is better to be short and sweet rather than long and boring..... what do you say!
That's all folks!!
Congrats to the 'AGNI'!!

SK,
That was pretty much it.. I am one of the AGNI folks (I sang the sangeedha jadhi mullai, if you remember!).. We had planned to start from old numbers and end with latest song like appadi podu etc.. But like you said, we started very late. FETNA could have planned it in a better way.. We weren't given enough time to do sound check either. We had to do it in a rush and that's why the chorus mikes and monitors didn't work most of the time. We somehow managed with whatever we had.. Anyway, it was overall a nice show and we received a good response from the audience.
On the previous day, I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Sujatha and Srinivas. Sujatha was awesome! She is not only a great singer but an extraordinary person to talk to. I had practiced a couple of songs like Thillana Thillana (muthu) with her but never had the change to do it. Srinivas came to practice on saturday straight from the airport. He seemed to be a little tensed. He was a bit choosy but very encouraging.. We had practiced about 30 songs in total but could do only half of them. Like you said abrupt endind was very disappointing. I will be posting some pictures and songs of the concert in the agni website very soon. Please visit www.agni.ca for more details..

I dont think they have a show in Sanfrancisco. They are doing a show (I think, with lakshman Sruti orchestra from Chennai) in Toronto later this month on the way back to India..
