I wanted to know more about the ragas created by IR. Have MSV,KVM and ARR done so too?

I had heard that IR has created a raga with just 3 swaras. Could someone tell me about it.
Also, where could I get a link to IRs pure classical renditions?

LV,
IR Carnatic compositions where played by Mandolin Srinivas and was released as a CD. I am no sure wher eyou can get that, but it is good album indeed.
IR also once did give a full kutchery himself. I am not sure whether that is available as an album.
For Film based classical compositions, check
Ramasamy Gireesan's page,
and
RaajaNGAHM.

What Mandolin Srinivas played were for classical notes or what you can say keerthanas created by IR.
I have heard that he has formulated a raga called Panchamuki (or something like that) - don't know if a keerthna in this Raaga is part of the list of keerthanas Mandolin Srinivas played.
From my limited knowledge - I think a Raaga can be defined as a set rules or combination of a set of swaras with specific grammer defined that represents a mood...

i think IR created rAjalahari or may be its panchamukhi. the album by mandolin srinivas is released by avm. this album has a song in the new raga IR created (and other compositions of IR in some existing ragas). I dont' think the vocal carnatic kutcheri by IR is commercially available.

Mr. I found it
You made my day, I have been trying to get hold of this CD for a long time...Thanks..
haris,
The CD by mandolin srinivas does not have panchamukhi, it has rajaLahari as u said. Panchamukhi did not get played or released in any album unfortunately.

I have the following comments from one of the TFM DF'ers pasted here. This was taken from archives..

Neels,
In 1992 or'93, Pyramid released a CD of classical compositions by IR. (Appalling art work!) There are 5 songs in this album: an abhogi varnam in tamil plus four krithis, two in tamil and two in sanskrit. You have probably heard one of them: Shri Siva sudha... which was sung by P. Leela in Karpoora mullai. They are played by Mandolin Srinivas, accompanied by a horribly screechy violinist. I came upon this in New Jersey at a Tamil Assoc. programme where IR was given an honorary doctorate by some two-bit university. I bought this at a stall there and IR autographed it for me. Later on, I also managed to acquire handwritten (by Arunmozhi) notations for the songs. They are truly beautiful. AVM also released these songs (on a cassette format that has as a bonus some comments by Semmangudi). Every song either has a rare talam or ragam. Unfortunately, nobody has taken notice of these. This shows his amazing command over carnatic music. A pity that I see postings here that dismiss his knowledge of carnatic music when comaparing him with MSV. I would say not even G. Ramanathan comes anywhere close. (Of course, we all know IR's prowess in Folk and western music...)
Same difference, by the way, is an Americanism...

Arularasan,
If you are interested in talas, check out IR's classical album. It has two compositions in very unusual beats: an abhogi varnam in khanda jathi tripuda talam (5+2+2) and a krithi in kalyani in tisra jathi dhruva talam (3+2+3+3). Terrific rhythms! (I had been intending to review this album for some time now...)

Guys
I have the cd by IR called RajaLahari
where the pure carnatic compositions
of IR is played by Mandolin.
And the compositions are very nice though
I feel if he made someone to sing those
it would have been nicer.
I also attended the program called Panchamuki
violin player VVS played few compositions and IR sang a song in Ganamurthy raga.
Overall i was little disappointment.
since VVS was playing IR cine compositions in his violin!! and nothing new except IRs kutchery

did anyone see the movie 'saviour'? the bgm is fantastic. the md used yugoslavian lullaby as the bgm in a soul-stirring way. i was very much moved by this movie and its bgm.
it reminded me of nayakan where ir used 'thenpandi cheemaiyilae' very beautifully.
ir is really a genius.

LV:
I am posting this from R. Balaji's site. He was the one who was told by IR about this 3 swaras song....
"
He specifically asked me to put this in my website—He said there are no MD's who had done a song in 3 notes (swarams). He said that he had done it. Later I came to know that it will atleast take 4-5 notes to do a song."
He in the above italics is IR(if someone has doubt in that :-)) )
Later I came to know that it will atleast take 4-5 notes to do a song.
Arularasan, Srikanth, RajaG....,
explain the above statement...I did not understand what R. Balaji was trying to say here.
