  I need somebody to clarify on the type of instrument used in the following songs from Kumbakkarai Thangaiyya.
  
  1) Strings used in the song Poothu poothu kulunguthadi poovu. IR has used it in many other songs too.
  
  2) IR uses a specific flute with metallic timbre in many songs, eg. in Thendral katre thendral katre. What is that flute called?
