  Last friday I received a "KARUVELAM POOKKAL" album from India.
  I thought that this album won't contain that much........., but after listening first time itself I was very much impressed with this album.
  
  1. "Pallakku.... vandhirukku.. rani maharanikku..."
  Sung by Bhavatharini
  Those who really hate bhavatharini's voice, pl. listen this song for atleast one time. Kiramia manam kamalum, konjum kural...aha...
  This song lyrics is like "machana pathinkala". Band instrument is used in this song.
  Situation: Akka kalyanathai, chinna vayathu thankai, valthi paduvathu.
  
  2. "Kalayile kanmulichi sooriyana"
  Sung by Sujatha
  Only Tabela is used. (Wov! eththana nalachi, intha mathiri tabela song kettu!)
  Situation: Ammavin perumayai, oru magal (maganalla!) velipaduthukiral.
  Mayangavaikum Isai!
  
  3."Yele.... Yennale...."
  Sung and written by Illayaraja
  This is pure folk song. The chorus humming is superb. Those who likes "Poda poda punnakku" type of songs, include this song also.
  Situation: Mannin perumayai villakkum pattu.
  
  4. "Ye, poothathadi"
  Sung by Umaramanan.
  Situation: Ammanai valthi padum kummi pattu.
  Umaramanan accent is plus for this song. (Kummi pattu kettu evvalaVu nalachi!)
  
  5. "Nalla kalam porakkuthu"
  Sung by M.S. Vishvanathan
  Situation: Thaththuva padal
  This is also really good song.
  
  Totally this album has good collection of songs.
  
  "KIRAMIYA MANAM KAMALUM arputha padaippukal"

  You are 100% right. Naangal iruvarum "KaruvElam pookkal" matrum "Devadhai" songs GTRin dhayavinaal kEttu mazhindhOm. "KaruvElam pookkal" contains 100% suththamana gramiya songs and who has taste for that can only enjoy. IR has as usual done his magic in all the songs.
