there are at least a thousand songs by jesudas in TAMIL itself. how to name it all! at least 100 of these songs are simply out of this world, some of them soul-achingly (yes!) beautiful. i would come back and list these 100. give me some time.

Need some help. I am trying to get the first couple of lines of a song sung by Yesudas.
I think it starts like this....
Aadhi enbathu thotilile, varum andhum enbathu katilile...
Anybody know the next few lines, or the movie or Music Director ?
Please help. It has been ringing in my head for a couple of days now !!!!

Yesudas is a singer alright, but he cannot be branded as a "great Singer"
He has a feminine voice and a faulty Tamil pronunciation. Generally Mallus only like his way of singing.

Beware, dont brand KJY as a tamil singer first of all. That's wrong point of view. If he isn't a great singer then who else? (of course our great SPB! too)

Dr KJY is the best ever. Tamil Pronunciation etc is no problem. He is not a tamilian and has made every effort to learn and correct in the due course. He infact revealed it in a recent interview in Sun TV (Last Deepavali). He is the greatest singer I have seen.

People just hear some Tamil songs and start comparison. If the legend KJY is to be compared with anyone, songs in all the languages must be considered. I have heard SPB and Hariharan singing Mallu songs and the pronounciation is terrible. Do you feel the same about KJY Tamil songs?..I don't feel so eventhough there may be minor mistakes (beacuse he is a keralite)!
No singer can catch with KJY in Melody and versatiltity!

Dr. KJY is a legend in his own right, who had the ability and talent to manage the classical music and cine music with ease. On someones comment on the feminity part of his voice, I believe they had to blame their audio equipment or their ears. KJY is on par with legends like Kishore, Rafi , Mukesh, last but not the least SPB. On the pronunciation part, nobody is perfect and when we compare the present day singers pronunciation(especially when Hindi singers sing) KJY was much better when he was singing in his early days.

KYJ is one of the living legend of music in the present world.all other singers including spb&hariharan etc are the fans of KYJ. we should think why its so?

BEWARE,
>>but he cannot be branded as a "great Singer" <<
Such an absurd statement!, KJY is a LEGEND regardless of his tamil Pronounciation, in fact he was just a tiny bit bad tamil, similaly like Hari said, SPB's Mallu accent could have been bad, but it is very sad to call a legend a 'NOT GREAT SINGER' :(
KJY does not have a Feminine voice, never at al, though he sounds nasal at high pitches, but never the less, he is ONE of the legengs to Come out of India along with SPB, RAfi & KISHORE!
No singer can catch with Dr.SPB in Melody, versatiltity & DIVINE VOICE :)

There is not doubt that K.J. Yesudas is a living legend and a great singer. His first film song was recorded in 1964 under the direction of M.B. Srinivasan. Actally it was a 'shloka' rather than song. It is a four line shloka starts with "jaathi bhetham .....", and title of the film is 'Ninamaninha kaalpadukal'.
