  i gotta kindov feeling that RAJA will be thrown fr MN . Kamal is not stupid to give his dream project to some one who is not the best anymore
  you guys could see that kamal had chosen only the best to work for this movie . Besides that RAJA dont has a steady market in tamil nadu itself and forget about india and oversea market.
  maybe atfirst kamal informed that RAJA will be the MD; that is before the budget of the MN been made. ANd kamal himself has the financial probs as he cant allocate enough $$$$
  for his movie....

  I saw an article about the Nandi awards (Andhra Pradesh state awards) on Rediff. Anybody knew who got the State award for music? Or more specifically, did IR get it for Anthapuram?

  Mr. Hindup iam sorry that you have this idea about IR, Listen to his BGM in Kaadhalukku mariyaadhai climax, (Also i suggest the movie "en raasavin manasilae", if possible take that movie and watch and listen to the BGM,songs you know are great hit,then tell) man he is out of this world, and that is not an old movie i suppose. I dont think there is anyone who could do it, like changing the BGM according to the varying tempo in a scene and that too with out a flaw. Give a single movie of other MDs who had done this and made it stay in our hearts. (Please dont tell Roja since that was a lift from Commando).
  I personally dont think ARR can deliver to the standards of Magnum Opus, IR sure could do, recall kaalapani, thalabathi and many more, if kamal goes for anybody else other than IR he is inviting one good cause for a big flop

  Remember the scores Raja did for the Miss World Pageant? Did they ever come out as a collection on CD or something? I rented the video just to listen to the music, but it was a 'dabba' copy. I couldn't listen to a thing.
  
  Also, did Raja win in Andra for Anthapuram? If not who did?

  You are right. He will go for Deva as it seems he is very much impressed by the music of "Avvai Shanmugi".
  
  As if, Kamal chooses the best in every area for each and every film of his (he may be the best actor today in India but that doesn't mean that his film can never flop). MN (if at all it is released) will be the biggest flop in the history of TF and that guy deserves that for all the double standards he has taken and for the hype surrounding this film. Thinking too much of himself is his greatest weakness and I always had the feeling that he is going to face it's wrath with the big flop of this film. Now that he has dropped IR from the film, there is no hope for its success. Tell me one thing, who is, at present, the second best MD after IR (though very far away). Deva? I think after IR, ARR deserves it more than anyone else. Whoever be the MD (other than IR), the film is going to become a flop and only then this guy's pride will get a beating.

  Kartik: Raja didnt win the nandi for Anthapuram. One Mani Sarma(they call him "melody brahma" ..now,nobody can claim he doesnt "create"?:))did for a chiranjeevi flick called Choodalani vundi(Which means "feel like seeing it"). What little I have heard of the movie's mu'sick' was truly horrifying ,what with Udit Narayan at his best in that song which I heard(and we all know how Life-threatening(to the language in question, esp. if it happens to be S.indian) UN can be when he is at his best :-)).
  There was a decent song in this album, though , extolling the virtues of calcutta..much better than what Deva managed in NN. However, I must confess that I never progressed to listen beyond the pallavi of this song so I might be mistaken in my observation. And I must say that while many may "feel like " seeing the movie , the music of the movie is not "Vinnalani undi"(Feel like hearing) .Coming back to the merit of the album viz-a-viz anthappuram, obviously, there's no comparisoN. Especially the BGM part. Didnt happen to see CV but Anthappuram was simply scintillating in terms of BGM score. But then, in Andhra, the concept of BGM is not that clear to even Movie Technicians..even Krishna Vamsee, director of anthappuram sheepishly admitted after the movie's release that this is the first time he realised the value of BGM (And this from a man who gave a super-duper musical called Ninne Pelladatha).
  
  Watch out for Anthapuram, whch is being dubbed in Tamil, courtesy Prakash Raj- if I am asked to single out one single ,solitary contribution of this guy to TF's , I would single out this effort to dub anthappuram.
  
  BTW, SJ won the best female(obviously) singer award for a soulful but disturbed thalattu.
  
  Even so, the movie won 5, 6 other awards and there was an accusation that the fact that the committee chairman was the father of the movie's producer helped!
  
  Hey! cheer up...Raja has won the best MD(BGM) for Kallu kondoru pennu in malayalam . Interestingly, Balu Mahendra was the chairman of the awards committee, and Vidyasagar won the best MD for Pranayavarangal!
