I have often wondered about this fact. Though so many ragas are present, in Film Music only a few of them have been used, and that too, in the current trend(for the past 10 yrs or so), more no. of songs in the Natabhairavi mould become more popular than the no. of songs in any other single raaga. can anyone suggest the reason for this?

Is it easier to compose in this raaga? Are the masses more attracted to this raaga?(by masses i do not mean those who are inclined towards gaana paattu;-)) Also, please note than the Most Popular MD ARR has used this raaga very often.

foll. are some of the popular songs in Natabhairavi notes(or nearer to it)
Kaadhalukku penn
Muqabla Muqabla
Urvasi Urvasi
Columbus
Hai ra hai ra hai rabba
Anbe anbe kollaadhe
Vaseeghara
Mustafaa Mustafaa
Sarakku Vechirikken
Hello Doctor
Malei Malei
Achacho Punnagai
Yedho Oru Paattu
Rosaappu chinna Rosaappu
Salaam-Ghulam(more like Keeravaani)
Gemini Gemini
Chummaa Chummaa
the above list only contains some songs, there may be many more...
