Singers with an accent

Hi Netters,

Hariharan might have a mellifluous voice but when he sings in tamil he has a definite accent. I personally think he should stick to hindi songs and avoid TFM. I believe he is a tamilian brought up in bombay. Hariharan's voice turns me off when he spoils a good tamil song this way. Has anyone else felt the same?

Other singers who mispronounce: Suresh Peters, ARR, Udit Narayan, Asha Bhonsle, the female voice is Kadal Vanile(Rasaiah). Any additions to this list?

  There is no end for this thread without usage of tamil voices from native tamilnadu origin.
  Tamils enjoy everything presented to them. They are free to do what they want. For eg. if you take a temple in kerala, you will be forced to take your shirts off and women forced to wear saress, to enter the sanctum sanctorum. But in Tamilnadu even temples are full of pants, T shirts, Churidhars and what not! People freely wander and make places dirty within the temple. This is just a social example. Likewise, they freely listen to everything presented in tfm without revolting to the unwanted accents as done in kerala or hindi fm. Tamil can be pronounced properly only by singers with tamil as their mothertongue!

  Lata wouldnt need to do such a hing. She was far far better, and that's a well established fact.
  Else Vani Jairam would've made it real real
  big down south, just as LM and AB did up north.
  Moreover that fantastic song 'Bol re papihara'
  has been telecast a record number of times on radio, even today. Its no doubt fantastic!!
  But listen to Lata's renditions in Miya Malhar
  (same raga as 'Bol re papihara') and you realize how much of a difference there is in Lata's favour

  you are wrong..Hariharan is a good singer..he is singing telugu songs very well..why are you blaming hariharan..he is Tamilian...i like very much his voice...being Tamilain, why are you blaming Hariahan...
