Comedy Songs

TFM has a good list of songs with comic lyrics.These songs had good pun,good music and gelled well with the sequence in the movie.

1. Jambulingame Jadhadhra (Kasedhan Kadvulada)

2. Hello My Darling (Engirutho Vanthal)

3. Varavu Ettana ( Bama Vijayam)

4. Thenatran KArayinile (Utharavindri Ulle Vaa)

5. Pavalan Paadiya (Mohd .Bin .Thuglaq)

6.Indrathi devargalum (Mohd.Bin Thuglaq)

I think this genere of songs have become a rarity since 1980s.

  manorama 's song" ayaraathu ponnu sonna kettukoda ambhi" is also good.cho plays a dravida parambariya thalaivar& he responds with" matraan thottathu malligaye vaa puratchiyai virumbum kanigaye vaa ethayum thaangum idhayame nee vaa.."
  can't remember the movie though. I think it was a Jai, jaya chitra *rer.

  It is Ungal Viruppam.MD was Vijay Baskar.Singers were LR Anjali and one Ramesh ,about whom no one had heard before or after.

  OISG, I know for a fact it is not Ungal Viruppam. This movie has aclimax in which Vijayalalitha plays a gun totting bandit. jai & Jaichitra outwit vijayalalitha by stealing her clothes while she is in the bath tub. The premise being even a bandit has her modesty. this is not from ungal Viruppam. Pls check back.

  Vj, thanks for reminding about "pournami neram". I think it is one of the contenders for the longest pallavis in TFM. It goes something like this
  
  "Pournami neram paavai oruthi
  minnal pola munnaal ponaal
  pinnal kandu pinnaal ponen
  ponnu oorukku puthuso endren
  kaalil ullathu puthusu endraal
  Oh mela ketkaadhey !"
  
  I saw this song in sun tv a few years back. Chandrasekhar sings this song to pep up a party. Towards the end of the song he looks up and finds suhasini watching him. His face loses colour and he fights back tears. Then he composes himself and goes back to join the fun. Since I have not seen the movie, I could not place the context. Anyway I have looked at this song as belonging to the genre where the upbeat mood of the song is a mask hiding the sorrow within. So, can this be called a comedy song ? Or am I wrong in my classification ?

  just hv a look at the pallavi... aint it humourous? adhaan i mentioned it. not in any context of the movie.. my mention was based on the lyrics/song and only on them.

  It IS a Sudhakar movie!Sudhakre oru comedy!
