Singing in a language !!

I just want to ask people who know tamil out there that is it hard to sing in tamil and can you express yourself alot or are the word structures and pronounciations stopping singers from doing that. In Hindi/urdu the singer can express himself to the utmost by pulling with a word that can be sung high. Is that so in Tamil ??. Also do you think singers have to sing in a different style in the south than in Mumbai because of the language ??. Give me your thoughts and answers !!!

  Being a tamilian, I can't say whether it's hard or easy to sing in Tamil, but as far as I have seen people from other states who live in Tamil Nadu, I have found that Tamil is easy to learn to speak - what with just 30 letters in all! The beauty of Tamil lies in its short and crisp words which usually require a very clean diction and pronunciation to bring out the sweetness. As for the style, it doesn't matter whether you are from Mumbai or Madras as long as you know the style of the language in question and the way it's being used and understood by people, I mean the expression. FYI, it's the non-tamilian singers who have excelled in Tamil Film Music in terms of pronunciation and singing.
