About an old movie

Anyone here seen "Oomai Vizhigal"? How is the movie and the songs? Who is the lead actor - Karthik or Vijaykanth? I like to know. Thanks.

  Tholvi nilena ninaithaal (PB Sreenivas after a long time), Maamarathu pooveduthu manjam ondru podava (PJ, Sasirekha), Rathiri nerathu pujayil (Sasirekha) were good numbers. We can listen, but the movie was not a big musical hit.
  
  Vijaykanth was the lead. Karthik in a brief role with Sasikala. Apart frm them, Jai shankar, Ravichandran (super villain), Saritha (VK's jodi) and many lead stars acted.
  
  Picturisation was damn good, esp one scene where it starts witha small point of light and becomes big... with a row of so many car's plying..

  Surendar sang this soong in Sapta swarangal stating this as his Fav ..

  "Kannmani Nillu Kaaranam Chollu" is also good song. I think the movie is also musical hit. But cudn't stand in front of picturization.

  Nilai marum ulagil was the other song.
  
  The movie changed the public opinion about Film institute guys.
  Normally thes FI guys had some trade marks earlier :

  Kulikkatha pazhakkam,
  
  varatha Thalai ,
  
  vetti communism (Communism mey oru vetti!)
  
  Czech,Poland, padgangal patri discussion
  
  Goddard script,Krosova,Ray padangal discussion
  
  Jayakanthan,Sujatha,Vanna Nilavan ,Sundara Ramasamy endru ellarayum sagatu menikku thittuthal
  
  Their movies ranged from slow to dead slow and invariably made the producers bankrupt & Sanyasi.
  
  Abavanan changed all that.But IMO it was not a good movie either.Poor ,incohesive script.

  Vijaikanth's performance was very good as a midukku crime branch official. When Saritha dies, the scene was kalakkified by Vijaikanth.
  
  Karthik was in a very brief role.. of cours he was very young and came in "Briefs" also.. :-))
  
  Besides Vijaikanth, Ravichnadran's acting as viialin was also vry good. esp, the last scene before he dies. Old is always gold :-)
