Ilayaraja and other language Actors/Actresses

In those days, it was considered a luck to get an Ilayaraja composed film. And, Ilyaraja, though did not make it big in other languages like Hindi, he was quite successful in Tamil and Telugu. Let's discuss other language artists and Ilayaraja'a music for their films and their name and songs.

Malayalam:

Mamooty: Dhalapathi and quite some Tamil and Malayalam films.
Mohanlal: Sirachalai and quite some Tamil and Malayalam films.

Telugu:

Chitranjeevi: Lots of films.
Nagarjuna : The Super hit Ram Gopal Varma's Shiva and many films for Nagarjuna.
Venkatesh : The Telugu remake of P Vasu's Chinnathambi.

Hindi:

Anil Kapoor: Mani Rathnam's debut film in Kannada, Pallavi Anu Pallavi

  Illayaraja became a craze in telugu in late eighties.
  Some of the memorable melodies are:\
  Venkatesh,Divyabharathi starrer:Bobbili Raja
  Chiranjeevi,Sridevi:Jagadekaveerudu athilokasundari
  Maniratnam's Geetanjali
  K.Viswanath's Swarnakamalam,Swathi Mutyam,Saagara Sangamam
  Vamshi's Sitara,Anveshana,Ladies Tailor
  Offbeat films like Nireekshana etc

  hi guys, this is Pranav from Bangalore. I like IR's songs very much. He is very popular in Kannada. His first debut in Kannada was in the year 1978 to a film starring Anantnag and "Oorvashi Sharada", sorry I don't remember the name of the movie. Since then he is creating waves from hi s music with his music.
  Shankar Nag - Geetha - a music hit movie, though the story of the film was ordinary it was sucessfully coz of Raja sir's Music- mesmerizing voice of S.Janakiamma and SPB.
  Rajkumar - Nee Nanna Gellalare.
  Shivrajukmar - Nammura Mandara Hoove, Galate Aliyandru - The first movie is really a good movei directed by the veteran Kannada film director Sunil Kumar Desai, which was a huge suceesfull movie inthe year. the music was also a musical hit. Here IR has used the voice of SPB, Chitra , Manjula Gururaj.All his songs in this movie are very melodious.
  Galate Aliyandru was a remake movie of Ullathai Allitha with music from Sirpi. But Raja's music in the movie is really very vcery good. He has used western beats to the songs. All songs are damn good.

  Suhasini , sharath Babu, Ramesh Aravind - AMruthavarshini- A beautiful Decent Film, A love story between Husband and Wife.
  The music was simply superb. All songs are Very Melodious - Chitra and SPB have sung the songs. It was also dubbed to Tamil, Telugu and Mallu( I guess)

  Did Amruthavarshini have the same cast when it was made in tamil? What was the tamil version?

  Mohanbabu's alligiance was always with KVM. It is only after KVM's death that he has started working with IR. And his fav singer is Yesudas. At least one song should be sung by this legendary singer

  Pranav,Neevu henge 'Palllavi Anupallavi'na marathri?Has anyone noticed that the track for the 'Idea cellular' ad is a direct lift of IR's composition for Manirathnam's first movie 'Pallavi Anupallavi' in Kannada starring Anil Kapoor,Lakshmi,'Julie'Vikram etc.The film was canned by Balu Mahendra.I saw the film in 1983 when i was 8yrs in the now defunct Shanti theatre near Southend in Bangalore and it left a lasting impression on me.
