Romba kuzhappitennu ninaikkiren.
Just curiuos to know the film songs accompanied
with instruments like flute, mirudangam etc.
and no western instruments used.
There is one song in His highness Abdulla
film with only Mridungam and Veena..
Excellent!
(P.S violin can be taken into account even though
it is western instrument)

pg: you are correct. similiarly in mAyAbazAr 1995 there is another beautiful (almost) acapellA nAn poRandhu vandhadhu rAja vamsaththula. it has bass guitar too somewhere in the first interlude. imo, there would no tfm with only indian instruments.

IR was the first to compose a song with only human voices in the backgorund for the movie Pagalil oru Iravu (in the early 80's) - the song was a great one sung by S. Janaki.

"neeyum bommai naanum bommai" first tamizh song of KJY, MDed by 'veenai' baalachandar(i think) is almost a 'only human voice' song. But it has a mild supportive indian percussion thats all(mridhangam/tabla or some instrument; but indian; if i remember correctly).

Gangkaiyile Neer Peruki" from Avarkal. by SJ by MSV's , which had only vocals No instrument of any kind. There was good music and better inovatinos before 1975., many here were too young to have not heard it I suppose.

'niththam niththam nelluch chOru' in 'muLLum malarum' has only ghatam and morsing. Are they both Indian? I think this is the only song with only percussion instruments.
