  What is meant by Raaja has become Gooja?? If there is one guy who doesnt qualify for this gooja title its Raaja!!! He must have been scoring music for every other movie had he turned into a gooja!! But there are gooja MDs in the past and present who have scored music just to cater to the needs of survival instincts. So better avoid such words so that we dont keep answering/correcting such things. Lets (try to) make TFM page a healthy discussion forum.

  I am very much bothered about maintaining the healthy status of the discussion forum. But then look the way IR is deteriorating and the way all the other MDs having their own say in `All in the game'. Perhaps IR should have got tired or he should have made up his mind not to go for this cheap race where only borrowed tunes and DUM DUM percussion beats have the say. Coming to Rehman, he is almost replacing Tamil music with Western ones. If that is his style, we can go straight for the English ones. We don't need him to retune them with Vairamuthu's lyrics. Coming to Deva, VS, Sirpi: The least said the better.
  So now with just about 3 more years for the 21 century, do you think that Tamil music will dominate our minds. I don't think so.
  So take this query in a sportive fashion and try to respond healthily. The query is healthy for TFM. But you're not I suppose.

  This query is not healthy. Your allegations are baseless. You have to justify your statement that Raja has become gooja. Vairamuththu maadhiri rhymingaa vara veNdum enpathaRkkaaga sonna oru statement maadhiri irukku. ippo thadaalnu 'IR is deteriorating' appidinnu kadhaiyai maaRRi vitteergaL. 'gooja' and 'deterioration' are different. Thamizhai misuse paNNavENdaam. indhule 'Thamizhisaipatron' appidunnu oru punaip peyar vERE!! (Just kidding - no offence intended).
  
  I cannot accept that ARR is replacing Tamil music with western ones. It is driven by market neccessity. yaarumE virumbi kEtkkavillai enRaal avarum Western pOdamaattaar. When public want it, what can he do. Moreover, ippoththaan minsaarak kanavulE nalla paattu pOttu improve aagi irukkar. ippo intha statement thavaRu.

  Your question is definitely valid for this forum - but most of us take exception to the manner of your address.
  When the regulars to this forum say, they want to keep this forum healthy - they mean that people do not make personal remarks against each other. Is that asking too much?
  I try to secondguess Aravind when he said that having Thamizh in your nickname, you have perhaps forgotten about the adakkam and panivu of Thamizh kalachaaram.
  Please do not be put off by our remarks here - we are all for a healthy debate and the more the merrier.
  P/S: Did you know writing in Caps in e-mail is considered rude as it is equivlent to shouting!

  Hey guys, this is the first time iam in this discussion. No one here has a righ to speak or coment on Illayaraja. He is a genius. If you say that he is a gooja(then where have you been when he has scored music to over 500 films). His music is totally uncomparable, whatever these days rahman and deva might score. Also please don't compare raja with deva and gang. It is a great insult to the genius.

  Hey guys...I think Ilaiyaraaja is a phenomena best described in sanskrit as "na bootho na bhavishyathae" i.e never was and never will be. He is one of his kind and a phenomena beyond words.
  But it is also a sad and depressing fact that Ilaiyaraaja has not been able to meet the standards he himself had set. Nevertheless he is still showing that spark in few movies even to date and albums such as India 24 speak volumes about the genius.
  
  I also personally beleive that A.R.Rehman is a good musician and some of his songs are certainly soothing. But to compare anything with Ilaiyaraaja is like to compare an individual with an institution. That is the grandeur of Ilaiyaraaja...but at the same time when specific movies are concerned, we have to admit that A.R.Rehman is doing a good job.
  
  Guess the conclusion is that ...Ilaiyaraaja had his day which seems like a century going by the volume...and I think we should not be more greedy in this matter as he has scored enough music for us to relish for the rest of our lives. So let us also appreciate the new breed of A.R.Rehman and Karthik Raja and hope that Ilai shows his spark once in a while to bring back a smile on our faces.

  I myself dont know how to go about it. neither do i have sufficient expertise in analysing and scrutinizing the script.

  Hai,
  This is Anil. I'am a keyboardplayer giving small small programmes. I'am not yet started learnig but I can try playing any instruments. I got this much interest in music only after hearing songs of A.R.Rehman. It might be unbelievable but that's the truth.
  His all songs right from his first film "Rooja" till "Doli Sajake rakna" are very good. He'll compose the matching tunes to the story, like background music in Rooja & all others. If the song is a love-failure song, he'll give the matching tune and even instruments.Even he gave Title music for the programme "Madras Telugu Academy" . So I assure that even if he copies its different and not like Deva's copied songs like Bhadsha. A.R.R will give a back ground music like shouting in almost all his films which has been copied by other music directors.
  So he is not coping same to same, he develops and give good music. He composes love songs very well.

  ar rehman with ilayaraja because ilayaraja
