  I don't want to comment anything about IR. Because i think that his music in TIME and MUGUM are not worth listening.Time is up for IR
  
  May be you are also confused as to what to do (just as we are), I mean buy or not to buy IR's new albums :-)
  
  Your second statement does what you did not want to do in the first :-)
  
  Your thrid statemnt is probably wrongly formulated :-) Time is not up for IR, bur IR is up for TIME :-)

  The music director for 'Hey Ram' is L. Subramaniam, the famous(to Indians) violinist. I believe the music for the film is ready. Two songs were mentioned in his interview, one is 'Vaishnavo janatho' duet by Hariharan and Sadhana Sargam(?) or Kavitha(?) and the other is a Lavani song by Chithra, which supposedly was a difficult carnatic composition. Besides that, his son also plays the role of a child violin prodigy. I think that Kamal's daughter also plays a role but I am not too sure of that.

  MS: Thannks for a good review of Time Songs. I agree with your review - especially the song muththu nilavE- the pallavi is quite s c r e wed up - I liked the charaNam a lot [reminded me of saravaNabhava from kAdhalA kAdhalA]. KR shouldnt have sung that song.

  Today I got the news on IR scoring music for Kamal's Hey Ram from one more source from India and the movie is releasing on Dec 25th, this is indeed a DIWALI BONUS.

  Yep. L.Subramaniam already gave an interview on Kumudam a while back. The first part was done and they had two songs complete. As the movie is, supposedly, practically finished and was supposed to be released for Diwali, although they post-phoned it due to a lot of films coming out, I don't see how IR can come into the picture now. I had already posted just a couple of days ago in another thread about the music of this film.

  my humble advice. please keep to yourself such news in the future. eventho' the thamizh/indhiya/for that matter any paththirigai is not really reliable, they have an air of authority. let them give the audience any juicy "news" they want to. i too heard from a very realiable source that ir was requested by kamal to do the score for hey ram recently (i don't remember if it was only the bgm or it included the songs also; i didn't care because i was not very interested in the news!) and that ir was/is enthusiastic about it. my hunch is, the delay in releasing the movie might be due to this; but hey, i might have been completely fooled by the "reliable source". who knows!

  I just felt very excited about whole thing just I thought I could share that in this forum. It seems the news has appeared in this week's KUMUDHAM magazine. The news is Kamal has requested IR to do the rerecording. If Kumudham News itself is wrong then we can not do much about it. I am excited to get hold of this week's KUMUDHAM. Also on DIWALI day there is a special interview with Kamal on Jeya TV. Hope things should be more clear then. Lets hope for the good news.

  Whether the news is from "reliable" or "unreliable" news and whether you guys were "excited" or not "excited", I feel this is a forum to freely voice your opinions of course within the ambit of netiquette. So there is nothing wrong in the news shared. Right from Anand Mahadevan to Suresh, everyone is saying this. Of course, I am not ready to believe the news, as I am always a 'doubting-Thomas' and if indeed IR is going to score the BGM for the movie then that is a good news for all of us. Period.

  Iam disappointed that IR is not composing the songs;(( Decent/different films like Housefull, Mugam etc. unfortunately do not carry any songs. A kuppai like Rajasthan has 8 or 9 songs.

  Yes, it is a confirmed news now. IR has been commissioned to take care of the music for Kamal's Hey Ram.
  
  IR originally refused this movie as he could not accept the script which some what justifies the killing of Gandhi. Then Kamal brought in LS. After recording some 4 songs, in bits and pieces, and after spending some hefty sum, and also after picturising the songs, Kamal came to the conclusion that this won't work and also the fact IR alone can do justice to the background scoring.
  
  Hence the SOS to IR and with very great persuasion he managed to rope in IR.
  
  IR had a look at the picturised songs and gauged the tempo and wrote a totally new orchestrations and arrangements and recorded them last week.
  
  Now he is waiting for the final cut version to start his RR work.

  I read in the hardcopy edition of Kumudam that IR has been persuaded by KH to score the BGM for H Ram. It is reported as `Kadaisiyaga vantha thagaval'..
