  what r u trying to prove by posting messages from other threads - ok , we ir fans r very bad. is it enough.... pls stop shitting here everyday with ur insane remarks... nobody needs it and it is high time, we IR fans stop these silly people from posting. if u like SMK or if u have anything about music, pls post it, else u have no business to carp about IR's fans incessantly.   Did u go thru the cassette cover properly? :)) Lyrics are by IR ...it says "Paakal Punaivu" - lyrics by IR, and then "Isai Uruvaakam" - Music created by IR. Now check it out after seeing this posting :))

  SMK is another gem in Raaja's crown. Best of his albums after Bharathi, Kaathal Saathi, EMV and Azhaki.

  Good album..surely there are traces of 70s and 80s IR here..Gundu malli pallavi ending seems very familiar. EthO Onnu ..prelude is like the EthO mOgam (from kOzhi koovuthu) prelude. Re: panam mattum - why is that thaththuva pAdalgal have to have this beat ? Even the iconoclastic ARR does it the same way.
  IMHO, IR the lyricist, is not doing justice to IR the composer, inspite of fresh ideas in the lyrics. Very good album.. but does not beat kAthal jAthi in my books. This should prove to the other MDs, that tune is the primary aspect of a song.

  SMK Songs are just great - IR is back with his classic touch !!! Especially the first two songs ... monday morning and this guy is not letting me concentrate on my work ,.. listening to the songs again and again and again and again :-))))
  
  I remember commenting in Album thread that Shreya goshal should replace Sadhana Sargam .. I am very happy to see it happening ! She does a very good job in this song too !

  SMK - nice refreshing album from IR. on a quick listening at raajangham site of all the songs, got a feeling of travelling thro tamilnadu towns and villages. as kiru said, 'gundu malli' is like the 80's songs something like 'thekku theru machaane'. my personal pick at the end is 'jakkamma..' which totally flipped me inside.

  okay..there are still people in my wavelength in these forums..'jakkamma' is my pick of the album. It is very original, the starting beats seems like 'body rhythm' (beating of legs or hands on ground or on oneself, but I could be mistaken). I am with IR on his view on creativity - producing things all by yourself without looking for inspirations from anywhere, if at all there is any it should be subconcious. You should work hard while learning not creating. While watching Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon , I saw a subtitle which said 'Real sharpness comes with less effort' - this aptly applies to the masterpieces of IR.

  BTW, I thought Shreya Goshal sounded better in Album than in this movie. Sadhana sounded better in an earlier IR album (I think, EMV) than in Ramana. In Ramana, she seems strained in the high pitch. Interesting, the IR version of the song (vAna villE) seems to be set a slightly lower pitch. Can somebody musically proficient clarify/address my doubts ?
  Yes, Shreya has a better tamil pronounciation and less accent than Sadhana. I hear she is very young. Young people seem to learn languages better than older people.

  Jakkamma song is unique in its own ways....
  The song rhythm was recorded in the studio by mixing the sound of plastic buckets, and Paraiyil Thuni thoikkum satham . Few Parankal were brought inside the studio for this. :)))
  Mimicry Mayilsamy lended soem voices to the song....but majority of the voices were done by IR....IR was full of ENTHU on that day when the song was recorded and completed in few hours.

  EMV got very great songs too.But you go and hear SMK songs.Very very nice.Ramana also good.Both movies will be released on Deepavali.A lot of people said that Ramana is not nice.Please hear to it twice or three time.Very very nice tunes.SMK is really out of this world.Raja is always a genius.Musical genius.
