Sometimes its for desperate publicity when your name is running low in the industry too.

Pras
Basically there must be fans for a performer to have Live concerts. If you are left with a handful of fans(however hardcore they might be!) and that too in the cyber world you can t hope to have a Live concert.
In such a case you should attempt stunts like "Sangap padalgal in Jaaz","Tholgappiyam in Blues","Aga Nanauru in Regaae "..........with a condition that they will never be released.

Ambleen, unakku idhu thevaya? why do you invite such unpleasant posts from other fans by provocating them?
You know their standard. This fellow comments sarcastically about the Thiruvasakam in Symphony effort. Does he has the knowledge to discuss technically about Thiruvasakam or Symphony, leave alone the significance of this effort to the music world.

Pras, it all depends on what price you pay.
But nowadays, live shows leave a gaping hole in your pockets. Whether it was the ARR concerts in India or foreign bands recently performing in major metros in India.
I wouldnt have minded travelling 500 kms to and fro(1000 kms totally) for ARR's chennai concert if not for the price - a whopping one grand if u wanna sit! Adhukku Rs.3 kudutha Pallavan vandeelaye seat kidaikum paatu keka.
In the end I was happy to hear giants like SPB/SJ didnt do many songs :)
My pals who attended the Bombay and Madras concerts arent planning to have any entertainment/shopping for the next 3 months.

1)starting to work with unknowns 2)constant failure of all new releases 3)sudden concerned association with stuff previously not related to 4)influx of many other talented MDs while staying away to work on the much hyped but failed Bombay Dreams 5)getting the Baba offer on the pretext of calling & wishing Rajini luck for his film 6) coming to Singapore to inaugurate the opening of of audio/video shop.
I guess all these are self explanatory.
Oh, if ppl want to make fun of Thiruvasakam In Symphony or any of IR's music, I am least bothered. IR's music rely purely on quality and not publicity or association with high profile people. Nuff said.

ambleen bhai ,
Illayraaja sir himself does not comment upon other music directors ....In HEYRAM ,Kamal Hassan wanted to have a program to compare L.Subramanian's music and Illayraaja sir's music ,but IR sir refused for such athing ...
When Illayraaja said bad about computer music ,he meant only the music and not AR Rehman...
I do agree with ur opnion that IR sir does it for his own satisfactiona and not for publicity ..But please avoid comparisons
SO please refrain from posting against Ar Rehman ..He has also done iNDIA proud ...

I think Rahman doesnt use computer a lot for his compositions. D. Imaan uses the computer for his whole album. Its all synthesized.

I think Rehman has done alot of good. But, I dont think we should under estimate IR's effort. The problem with Indians is that we pull others legs alot and dont encourage a genuine effort. But I hope people dont expect alot and also mock it and take it in a right way. If this comes good, I would be proud to say that to my fellow non-Indian friends here in UK than a filmi album with less creativity. To quote an example, when I played some of the songs of ARR and others here, I was told "can I hear some Indian music, its just more of pop stuff??"
I feel many music directors now doesnt have originality and create Indianish (atleast some 25 - 40%) songs. Thankfully ARR doesnt do it alot, he is the original and innovative of the current crop which excludes IR.
To me, IR is the most underestimated composer in places other than South India and over estimated in South India, thats the problem he became restricted to filmi music and shelled out some crap even in his heyday and acheived less than he should have achieved.
