Ilayaraaja's New malayalam film "Manasinakkare"

As always (more in the recent years), Maestro has reserved his better performance for Malayalam film music "Manasinakkare" starring Jayaram, Sheela & Nayantara.

The film is doing excellent business & has good a good film verdict....The Sify review says : "However the selling point of Manasinakkare is Sheela and the music of Ilayaraja".

  IR has always given good songs for Mal Films, with songs of traditional flavour.
  
  I even wonder why he has not remixed it in TFM.

  The song starting like "Marakudaiyal manam mayakkum maanellam" or something...that song featured Jairam...happened to watch this song, and it caught up instantly..

  All the songs were neat and melodious. Though i understand little bit malayalam only, all the songs were rendered beautifully.

  Vel, I was also captivated by the 'marakudayil' song. a very good solo - looks like MG Sreekumar.
  
  but the pick of the album is 'mellayonnu' a beautiful melody. atleast once in a day this song is being played in the satellite channel and is a treat to watch the way all the three characters' acting in this song, though Sheela seems to be overdoing it a bit.

  Well, I liked the usage of Gambheera Natai in the song 'Thangathingal', and I also enjoyed 'Chenda...' and I also took pleasure in hearing 'Mellayonnu', but I'd advise everyone to listen to the KJY solo version of this song; Jyolsna's awful voice spoils the song.
  
  I can't buy Mythila's comparison of Manasinakkare and Olangal, because....
  
  I listened to the songs of Olangal a while back, and I don't remember one single number (know what I'm getting at?). While I definitely think that Manasinakkare songs pale in comparison to so many melodious Mallu songs of Johnson, Ravindran and Bombay Ravi, at least I was somewhat captivated when I heard the songs (I'd still say that Ravindran's most recent Ammakilikoodu is superior to this album!)

  I'm sure "Manassinakkare" songs are good and shouldn't be compared to yesteryear songs but it's strange when you say that you can't recall "Olangal" songs. "Thumbe Vaa", "Vezhambal" and "Kuliraadunnu" were extremely melodious songs and really fresh as Mythila suggested. Those are classic evergreen songs, IMHO.

  Gambeera Naattai.

  The gut & gir; on Boat is from the film "For the people". The guy is Bharat (of Boys) & girl is Gopika (Of Autograph).
