Best IR Duet & Solo as a singer...

Hi guys was listening to some 80's IR songs on the radio...I guess the best duet would be "naan thedum sevanthi poo ithu" from Darmapathini & "mettioli" from the movie metti..though "aarum athu aalam illai" from muthal vasantham is also very nice...what do u guys say???

  Evolution, Are you sure this thread hasnt been done yet?
  anyway, there are quite a few. You want selections based on IR's singing or the quality of the song as a whole?
  My vote is for Poomalaiye, Kadhal Oviyam(duet) and Thenpandi Seemayile(solo) and it is the popular choice for many of my friends :)

  hi..prabhu...the best duet & solo shld consist of both..I do agree abt thenpadicheemaiyeeley...I was listening to a live recording (cd) of IR live from madurai & srilanka..in both cds he did sing thean pandi cheemaiyiley...he also sang 'ponna pola aatha" from enai vittu pogathey...he aslo sang raja rajadhi raja wif sp bala & malaysia vasudevan..

  devanin koil from aruvadai naal had only IR's hummings & chorus, (which was a rarity for IR those days), beautiful song...just like the TR song nenjam padum by janaki from Nenjil oru raagam which had the great spb rendering the chorus...r there any other songs????

  Guys u forgot the beautiful song "kathalenbathu pothu udamai" from palaivana rojakkal...a nice so called thathuvam song from IR...just like "vayakatti vayuthakatti" from solla thudikuthu manasu..a superb IR album which had very good songs including the classic poove sempoove by kjy & the introduction of the spb clone mano wif theanmozhi..

  a very rare song - maan thendrale, an IR solo which comes as the title music in Mullum Malarum. Very soothing melody. Since it was not in the record in those days, one of my cousin got it recorded from the theatre. the songs like

  kanni mayile.. Yenamma
  then kinname...
