IS VAIRAMUTHU "KAVIPERASU" WHILE KANNADASAN IS ONLY "KAVIYARASU"?

i dont think Vairamuthu has overtaken the legend Kannadasan.

  there is no doubt that Vairamuthu is the best lyric writer now. it is unquestionable that he is the best.
  
  he is good in mixing modern style with some really deep stuff of knowledge in the songs.(esp.love songs)
  
  
  But i dont think all these mean that he has a step ahead of the all time great Kannadasan.
  
  still there is only one kaviarasu or perarasu or someother thing that is Kannadasan.

  As of now VM is better than any body else. But
  when you compare him with Kannadasan, he becomes
  junk. He can't stand with kannadasan.

  Titles do not mean much nowadays. In the past there was real value for the title. Not any more. Vairamuthu is definitely the best now. Unfortunately there is no one he can be compared to now. But I do not think we can equate him with Kannadasan

  Senthilkumar: To some extent I can't agree with you that VM is the Best. He is highly inconsistent nowadays. While he makes lot of paethals, he has occasionally penned down some good songs (like the one in Muthu - Oruvan Oruvan Mudhalaali). Hence, he can't be the best. Anyway, VM is nowhere near our Great Kannadasan. Merely prefixing some title to the name won't do any good.
