I always wished to play tamil film songs on key board/harmoniam but lost interest in it due to lack of accurate musical notes. May be this thread can help some of us like me who are eager to learn playing familier songs.
As a start, I would request the knowledgeable folks here to provide the starting notes of the following songs
1. Raaga Deepam Erutm Neram Puyal Mazhayoo (Payanangal Mudivathillai)
2. Thendrelle Thendrelle (Kadhal Desam)

Krishnamurthy:
Looks like, there is more to it than just knowing the chords for a song. I saw your songs "Ilaiyanila" and "RajaRajaChozhan" using the Cakewalk, and you have chords using strings/ guitar, etc and these are appearing at the same time, in some places. "Ninnukori" and "Kaatril" are way too complex. Is there any book or article that can give some suggestions regarding these ?
As you had mentioned, your songs are mostly chord-progressions and the melody is very mild [infact, is not even needed to recognize OR enjoy the song]

Chidams,
I suggest you visit www.keyboardmag.com and if possible subscribe to the magazine. Its an excellent source for keyboard freaks like you and me. You can also visit room 251 for some tips with chord progressions. Pay lot of attention to chord inversions. I was amazed the first time when I heard the same chord played differently.
I guess you are right. Theres more to a song than just chord progressions. But I feel that by knowing chords (the right ones ofcourse), you can train your ear into listening the harmonies better - thats how I learnt it. That apart, people that dont have staff view softwares can see these chords. Thats the reason I insisted on posting chords.
Its not true that the songs I sequenced have belittled melody to any extent. I think I havent played them properly, or my keyboard wouldnt allow me to. But songs like ninnukkori definitely need the voice to make it sound much better.

Krishnamurthy:
Thanks for the tips. I saw some links for inversion, counterpoints etc y'day. Then I realized what you've done with the parallel chords etc. As I am a beginner, will need more time to grasp so much.
I did not mean to say that the melody was not enough. It is just that the chord progression is so accurate that the melody is not looking significant.
Yes, I agree with you in that the vocal melody with pro singers can do wonders [Still, you have handled the keyboard so well]
We are looking forward to many more works from you

Thank you very much for the page chidams. I am also a learner like you, and this page seems to be interesting. If you come across some theory/compostion based pages, do post them here.
