Anybody saw this week's vikatan ? (I mean the printed edition)
In the last page, they have an announcement which says 'aduththa ithazh is Cinema Sirappithazh' and the page has a wonderful photo of our Raja sitting before a piano !!
Wondering what is that article next week's vikatan has about Raja ...

This post is for Mr. Sashi ( the ARR movies regular reviewer),
Dear Sashi,
This is a special request, could you please review "Azhagi" songs for us , I just could not come out of the mind boggling song " vizhiyile terivadu" . Thanks in advance
Mr. Kiru, thanks for your comment, do you mind if I e mail you, to enquire about audio system/head phones and recording details ( cause' i always see you posting in great details about lot of stuffs for a long time), I know last time when I asked in one of the threads, one of the administrators almost bit me for asking such questions ( labelled irrelevant?) in the thread as it was digression from the main topic, thanks to u also in advance
Happy Pongal to all in advance, eagerly waiting for Kamal's "PKS", although I don't like Deva's music

Wonder why nobody has reviewed "Kasi" yet in the forum

Though there seems to be a general opinion in this forum that Kaasi is just OK, one of my friends who visited a cassette shop in madras enquired about Kaasi. Here is the what the shopowner said:
'Thaen sir Thaen Ella Pattum!!. Kaalaila 50 cassette konduvanthaen ippa parunga 3 thaan mitchum iruuku'.

Ajay Chakraborthy is a well established Hindustani Singer, recently his concert was held in Music Academy, his concert review came up in Anadha Vikatan, and thats the pic someone has posted here

NagaS , Pandit Ajoy chakravarthy is a very reputed musician and performer and is not some "ajay who sang isayil thodanguthamma ".he doesnt need an identity or address like this . like this It is sad to see such great people being dragged in to the web of "saw foto here saw foto there". Let us keep this kind of an adulation restricted only to film personalities who are probably more wanting in this kind of a publicity and leave classical musicians alone before some ignoramus starts another string of demeaning comments about such great people without having heard a bit of their music..

What do we call mr R? the person "intellectaul who posted in this forum"?. You may be a nobel price winner, but we know you only as Mr. R "who postes BS"
we are just ignorant people, who dont know whos who. Nagas is just pointing out to make it easy for us to remember.
And what makes hindustani singers so special?
Do they sing just for nirvana?. Dont HCM dont have any gossips and mediocrity at all?.
This is forum for people who respect film music as good form of art, as anything else.If you have problems, Look for some intellectaul music forum and talk about standards

KK..my posting would have been the same even if it was some carnatic musician .
// And what makes hindustani singers so special?

this was precisely the kind of thing i was wanting to avert.
// This is forum for people who respect film music as good form of art, as anything else.//
This is not really true..i have seen some truly ignorant ideas and discussions about classical music and musicians in the name of "appreciation of film music as an art form ..." in this forum..
About the rest of your posting..all i can say is "may be a bad day at work " :)

mr R
I dont find any thing wrong in NagaS posting ,very few in south know about ajoy chakravarthy as a classical singer , he is more known as the person who sang in "hey ram " , ur posting sounds very rude.
may be u had a bad day at work

R,
fortunately or unfortunately, "ajay needs that kind of intro" to be recognized by the TFM DFers here. Almost none of the TFM listeners would have known ajay if not for the song in Hey Ram.
NagaS doesn't indulge in making atrocious postings. He was only helping others recognize him.

We dont know to respect any artist, another example is Hariprasad Churasia the best flute artist world wide was featured in a small corner in nothing but wind. We need to respect others, in order to get it back. iooo Tamiza Tamiza.....

Iam sorry about my blasphemy on HCM / all CM people.
Here, after We will restrict my 'cheap talk' to
mortals like KJ Yesudas, Lata Mangeshkar, IR, Kishore, ARR etc and all other talentless people, who work for ill reputed profession like films just for money.
Happy??!

nanum oru tamizan,
my NBW CD shows Pt. Chaurasia on the full front cover. Thats what you call a small corner?. Does the fact he is great, should stop me from discussing his works in movies as shiv-hari?.

NagaS and who so ever that is offended by my posting...here are my apologies..May be you read my posting in a wrong way just as I might have read NagaS'..I was really saddened to see that "ajay who sang in hey ram.." may be my response to it is similar to the kind of reaction that many df ers are used to when someone talks of IR in a vein that they are not used to hearing about him .Further, the next posting by Udhaya is what i call informative..if u can see what i mean...
I rest my case here...

R: correction: udhaya didn't post anything in this thread following NagaS's link. it was UV who is a different guy. :-)
my own 2 pesos [:-)] addition to this is: there is nothing wrong in calling ajoy chakraborthy as "who sang isaiyil thodanguthammA in Hey Ram". he is probably the only north-indian singer who has enough work ethics to learn the pronunciation of the words he was singing. in fact everytime i talk about ajoy chakraborthy i always mention "this "man" gave an almost flawless rendition in Hey Ram". btw, only if he had done a miserable job in Hey Ram should you be offended and not otherwise. most people in tamil nAdu wouldn't have known anything about nithyAshree before kaNNdu kANbadhellAm and we fighting over "ajoy who sang in Hey Ram". :-(

Prabhudas..you can email me ..I take vicarious pleasure when my friends indulge in good audio equipment :)
Another reason we want to be nice to NagaS - he is a reporter and he can really convey the mood in these forums through his writings :) Moreover he has reporting stuff here as well. One of the guys who helps keep up the quality content in these pages ..
And BTW, I also wish Shashi reviews that azhagi song !! damn..this guy breaks the song into its minutest details . but probably he does not have the patience for IRs compositions anymore :(

R (& other friends),
I have heard Ajay in HeyRam Tamil and Hindhi Versions, I read abt. him that he is a classical singer from west bengal (??), Other than that, I don't know anything about this person,
I liked his work in HeyRam a lot, His pronounciation was good and he simply made the song more enjoyable, I also read somewhere that he is again singing for IR in R. Partheban's latest movie, I am eagerly waiting for that also,
That is my knowledge about Ajay and when I read about his concert in Chennai (in vikatan printed edition), I was very happy to see his photo there, I am sure most of our DFers, who heard him and loved his work in HeyRam, may like to see him, So I posted it.
ThiruvaLLuvar says, 'Kaettaarp piNikkum Thakaiyavaar' - It means, you should talk (or post :-), in such a way that it attracts the audience, Thats more than important, Here our posters are mostly familier with TFM than anything else and I don't see any harm / offence to the talents of people like Ajay or Balamuruali krishna when I say 'Ajay who sang Isaiyil thodanguthammaa' or 'Balamurali krishna who sang oru naaL pothumaa / chinna kaNNan azaikkiRaan', That doesn't mean I am trying to reduce them to mere playback singers, I am just giving a proper introduction which people here will understand,
Sorry if I have hurt your sentiments in my previous post, But still I believe atleast a couple of TFM DFers would have benefited by that post, and by actually seeing this great singer !
