nowadays we hear a lot of synthesised music in our film songs. manual playing like, usage of violins, violas, cellos, brass instruments like trumphets, trombones are not all used or used only to a minimum extent.so the real orchestration feeling is lost in today's songs.what does the forum feels?

The onset of technology is in fact helpfull to the music industry. The right usage of instruments with technology does give a good effect just like AR is using it to good effect. Its just the other deemed music directors who are creating cacaophony with misuse of technology.

Totally agree!!! ARR's songs are simply Western music Dibbi. Where's our traditional beats like IRs? Recently I listened to Kadhal Virus songs (sung by V. Das) "Unnai Thakki" -- it is just a rip from Punk Rap! WTH???

Hey and one more thing, now-a-days (in music like ARRs) the music is so high that it drowns the signers voice and so any 2-bit singer gets away with it! Also, most of the lyrics is un-understandable WTH? [e.g. VaanNilaTharum => KV] Where is the TFM which had singers like PBS and SPB? Seriously, guys think about it....
PS: and to think that KV has got no. 1 position in TFMFORUM Top. 10 ... Yeeeeowww! [It hurts!]

If we are talking about "excessive usage of key boards", then it must be CSE, not "mecahnical mechanical".

guys,
have you listened to the bgm in tele dramas, sounds like music directors have no instruments except for keyboard. unnecessary extensive strings arrangements for most of the scenes...
there should be an improvement there, should use bit more variety...

Heck yeah excessive use of computerised music has spoilt the feel of TFM!!! I feel that in very recent times MFM is leagues ahead of TFM. Why? Simply becuase MDs in Mallu do not binge on computers to churn out music (actually they probably do, but not to as great an extent as in TFM. Anyway, in Mallu, I only listen to music by Ilayaraja or Ravindran). In TAmil, I mainly listen to recent albums of Ilayaraja.
In all fairness, though, I heard Soundharayan's latest album, 'Anbu Thollai'. Songs are enjoyable, though nothing that is likely to be remembered several years down the road. What I really liked about that album is that Soundhs used some real instruments in his work.
