IR and the Flute

Can we talk about IR songs that have memorable flute pieces?

  I know flute is one of his favorite instrument after the western classical guitar. While most of his songs have flute pieces, I would to see posts about some songs where flute dominates other instruments.

  Mudhal Mariyadhai songs as well as the movie has some wonderfull mesmerizing flute pieces. One of IR's best. Also he uses mostly flute in all his Title scores. His albums like "Nothing but wind" and "How to Name it" has some of the best flute based tunes. Both the violins as well as the Chaurasia's flute jells beautifully throught the NBW album. Considered to be one of the best for medidation.
  
  The flute is one of the best instruments which has the potential to captivate the mind with lots of emotional feelings. Maestro has utilized it to the maximum in all his movies. This is one example of bringing in creativity as well as new haunting tunes in film music. This is a testimony to IR's musical creativity(originality). That is why he is the genius in music.

  I just cannot forget the flute interludes of "Kuyil Paattu" from EN RAASAVIN MANASILE. Listen to the swarnalatha version. Amazing, mind boggling, extremely moving flute pieces.

  Just decided to listen to that song (Kuyil paatu by Swarnalatha) after I posted the above comment. Flute is used in bits even in pallavi and other places with great effect. The beginning of the first interlude with the flute is great. I particularly like by the way the flute is played there (some sort of shrilling effect). I dont remember if I have heard any other song in TFM in which the flute is used in that way (shrilling effect). I also like the way it transforms (into a different plane) into a strings section. Amazing moving effect.
  
  The second interlude starts with violin, then goes into a different plane with a flute and once again IR takes into another plane (with the flute again), but this time with strings section added...causing a much better effect. Just too good.
  
  What I like in IR is the mesmerising effect he achieves while transforming to a different plane. Amazing. There are so many songs of IR with great flute pieces (and also mesmerising), but this song will remain my all time favourite (when it comes to flute).

  Happened to hear 'Chinna manikkuyile...' from Amman kovil kizhakkaalae.. today in vectone TV.
