  This is a spin-off of Satya Keerthi's thread on songs fitting the situation.
  
  There are indeed some songs that tell the entire story of the movie. Oru nabar solli irunthaar: 3 mani nera kathayei moondrey nimidathil Kannadhasan sollivittaar yendru. Even if you have posted in some other nets, please do it again.

  We need to recall movies with strong story-lines, for this exercise. (Does that automatically disqualify MGR & Rajini movies? :-))
  
  Kanchana - Karnan's story told in song? I think this calls for an explanation. :-))
  
  How about Pon ondru kandein from a Sivaji-Balaji starrer. I think, two lines in the song tells the story: Naan paarththa pennai nee paarththathillei, nee paarththa pennai naan paarththathillei.

  Now, I need to explain the Karnan song as per your request.
  
  Lines which explain how Karnan grew up without his real family or rightful title:

  About Punnagai Mannan in Iru Kodugal,
  It is alright to say that a discourse on Krishna-belongs to-Rukmini will have a ready response in Bama-also-has-a-share. But let us look at it from rukmini's POV(Point of View).She thinks..rather is almost sure that her husband is philandering..so, there is no question of comparing him with Rama, which will be a deep insult on Sri Rama. Obviously, she thinks that her husband is following Krishna..but from her point of view, Bama has no locus-standi in the matter of claiming krishna. As far as Rukmini is concerned, Bama is a jhonny-come-lately, who might be 'married' to Krishna alright, but that marriage, in Rukmini's opinion is Null and Void. So, Rukmini(Jayanthi) says "Look , Ms(?!)Bama, you might think that by 'marrying'(In the movie , jayanthi doesnt know gemini is already married to sowcar..she simply suspects infidelity..so , from jayanthi's POV, even the BAMA STATUS she has given to Sowcar is a bit too much!) Krishna, you also have a SHARE on krishna but I care two hoots for your sentiments..He is MINE and MINE ALONE. No way Im going to share him with you.Catch my point?".
  
  If we transalate that into tamil, I think we'll end up with the lines,
  "Punnagai Mannan...rukmanikkaga".Ofcourse, one has to be Kannadasan to think of these exact lines. If I did,probably, we'll have stuff like"Inname bama, krishnavai kannalam kattikina, ......". :)
  I dont see anything out of context in it. Whereas a reference to Rama would have been out of context and insulting rama , too(Ramki, VHP jagradhai..ramarai avamana paduthineengannu solli, attack pannida poraanga!).
  So, IMO(Ithuoru nalla escape-key..ellathaiyum sollittu, kadaisila oru IMO potta ellam balance aayidum!), Kavignar is on a strong wicket when he says 'Punnagai Mannan..."
  
  That is, rukmini accepts the fact that krishna has gone and associated himself with another female...but no, that "infernal female" doesnt have any right on Krishna..by cavorting with Krishna, that female is violating the rights of Rukmini. Anything wrong with that logic ?
