  I am not sure whether 'Rishi moolam' has been mentioned earlier or not. It is not in there in my list. It has some more songs

  I just visited Gopal Prasad's super site of Raja's songs. Almost all of the lost rare S Janaki hits are finally found there.
  
  Gopal, I am really indebted to you. These songs I used to hear regularly on Radio Ceylon. They somehow would play regularly all of Raja's strangest compositions never played by Vividh Bharathi (Ungal Viruppam)
  
  Again, Puthandu Vazhthukkal. May you also live forever, just as I wish the same for Raja and family.

  Man, you are right> The song Solla Solla Yenna Peruma...i in Ellam Inbamayam can be said to be the the first revolutionary modern pop type song from India.
  
  I liked Ram Lakshman songs so much, that I saw the movie more than 3 times. Nallathu Nadakkatum Raja, Ona Vandhu Mattikidichu, Vizhiyil Un Vizhiyil Oru Poo Poothathu, and the remaining two songs: Vaalibame Va Va, Naan Tan Un Appandan, etc. very each so new and fresh, so much music in one movie!
  
  Likewise, I liked Anney Anney (Mouli's). One song that makes me go crazy is Meri Pyari Dil Ki Rani (T l Maharajan's brilliant singing) in Indru Poi Nalai Vaa (that superhit movie from Bagyaraj)

  I have a couple of absolutely breath-taking numbers in IR's typical style from this period.I don't know if these have been mentioned earlier.
  
  1.) En Nenjil edho engum geetham - from the movie Rosaappo ravikkaikkaari.This has been sung by Vani Jayaram and is set to some Hindustani raagam (or is it our own madhuvanthi??).The song is absolutely great.Just listen to it during dusk(around 6 pm) and the feeling of longing penetrates the listener.
  
  2.) Etho kanavugal - from the movie Agal vilakku.This is sung by Yesudas and Shailaja.The interludes are the highlights in this song(the charanam is surprisingly small for a Raja song).The interludes just flow like a gentle river on it's natural course.Raja's absolute brilliance in the interludes come forth in this song and makes one wonder as to where did all that brilliance go while he composes now.
  
  3.) Chinna Kannan Azhaikkiraan - from Kavi kuyil,sung by Balamurali Krishna.This song is in the raagam reethigowla and bringsout the beauty of the raagam in a very simple but enjoyable way.

  hey Guys,
  EMI (Gramophone company of India) is coming out with 'Revival CDs'. These are digitally mastered CD's with good filtering/noise removal. They have come out with a collection for Hindi. I emailed them about doing a 'Golden hits of Ilayaraja' Revival CD. I am hoping this would be of much higher quality than the run of the mill CD we normally get with tape hiss and LP crackling sound. This is true especially of older songs.
  
  So could you guys specify the movie and song in the order that you approximately tells how 'golden' it is ?
  
  It seems their studio is booked till July. After July they would be able to take up new projects. I would happily spend $40 or $50 dollars on a IR collection.
  
  So I would like to see more activity in this thread. As for me, I dont know the names of movies only the first few lines of the songs.
  
  Hey TFM Dudes, now that you guys have a database. Can we have repository of IR Songs ?
  This would be a good Database design project.
  So that people search this database etc.
