The main purpose of this thread is to discuss the albums of KR, YSR and Bhavadharini ('avaiyathu mundhi iruppachcheyal' and `ivan thandhai ennOtRan kol')...
It'll also help keeping the IR's new albums thread exclusive to his works...

albums like 'phir milEngE' can probably be discussed here...Bhavadharini is supposed to have done a decent job...
IR is definitely fortunate to have obedient and resourceful children...we don't see all children excel in their father's field very often, especially at such high competitive levels...
It's unfortunate that most children of popular artistes get spoilt:-((sulakshana's erstwhile husband is one example)

Why do we still believe in the "Kuzha Thozhil" concept? - Which is the basic reason for our nasty caste system.
Somehow it's popular in Indian Politics and cinema.

Phir milenge is terrible. I heard the songs today. BD is a shame to IR family.

20000910, unfortunately caste system is not based on kuzha thozhil system, it is the other way around...
Whichever field it is, if someone is sincerely training (or getting trained, or getting educated etc) his children to excel has to be appreciated..
'thandhai makaRkAtRum udhavi avaiyathu
mudhi iruppach cheyal' says kuRaL
Similarly, children should make use of the opportunity to perform well and make parents proud..
'makan thandhaikkAtRum udhavi ivan thandhai
ennOtRan kol enum sol' is another kuRaL..
I don't think we should confuse caste system with this. A physician's son taking up medicine is not necessarily a bad thing. One should not connect this with religion at all.

While it can put lot of pressure on children when their father is as illustrious as IR, that they are able to come out of his shadow and create their own niche is something!
Many children try to emulate the success of parents, but few succeed...Raja should be really happy and proud that his children have a measure of success in the field of music...
I think it's time to throw some objective comments on the works of IR's children rather than digressing on whether they should have chosen this profession...

Dear 20 million,
Emulating the success of one's parents is not a piece of cake in any profession. As such, success is something that's earned, not handed down on a platter.
Good example is Sunil/Rohan Gavaskar :)

"Phir Milenge sings a different tune in terms of its musical offerings. Nevertheless, when you have Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan playing lead roles, good music is usually a given. To add to the flavor of the soundtrack, multiple composers were used to create the nine songs. S-E-L take the lead since they have five tracks and Bhavathi Raja as well as Nikhil-Vinay each have two. The lyricists are Sameer and Prasoon Joshi who was most recently heard in Hum Tum. "
says another site for this album...which rates at 8.5/10:-))

Nikhil-Vinay are not involved with this film in any way.
Bhavatarini did the BGM and SEL, Bhava composed the songs.

does anyone know which songs were done by which composers ?
I feel that Bhavatha's songs would be the one with Bombay Jayshree, those songs have diffrent feel to the other ones.
movie is gaining some good reviews, a rarity nowadays.

Cinefan, that is indeed a very saddening news. We will be subjected to the awful music of BD as well having to listen to her screech her way through singing on her albums. To top it off, we have to listen to Sruti Kamal singing in her fathers voice.
This sort of nepotism in music is very disheartening. Probably the producer /director of Kathirruppen is IR's cousin or best friend.

LOL,
Judging something before it's even produced ("We will be subjected to the awful music of BD ") is worse than secular-nepotism...you seem to suffer mentally with loads of prejudice and hatred which is worth shedding...
Coming back to NEPOTISM, which is a term originally for religion is now also loosely used in business and other forms of life. I feel it's incorrect to use the term in derogatory sense for anything other than religion. Why?
Very few can say they were not benefited in someway or other from one of the following:
a) the education level of their parents
b) the money / property of their parents
c) the talents of their parents
d) the promoting efforts of their parents
I can show you 1000's of doctors whose parents were either doctors themselves or who had the money to get children educated. Similarly many who could study engineering had parents of reasonably educated background who could push / influence / spend so as to help the success of their children. For example, if my parents weren't educated at all, the chances of me becoming an engineer (after being born in a hamlet) was/is definitely less than 50%. In addition, if they weren't paying my college fees/ hostel bills, it would have been much more difficult to finish the education. You can probably analyse your case too...
I don't see anything wrong in parents trying hard to help their children succeed or the children taking advantage of that to further their carriers, as long as both of them (i.e. the parents and children) do not try illegal, dishonest or unethical means, like stealing, bribing etc.
In Bhava's case, what wrong did IR or Bhava commit to make Bhava a musician? Getting her musically trained was no sin on IR's part, espcially after living his whole life for music. And in a field like cinema, it is not percentage of marks / entrance tests or interview that gets projects:-)) Even if you manage to get one project using the name of your dad, unless you perform, you aren't gonna be there for long...we have seen 100's of children of film personalities who tried and disappeared.
Why prematurely complain now? Wait and see...if she does well, let's appreciate. Otherwise, she'll be shown the door anyway, no one's gonna keep betting their dime on a lame horse!
