Who would u choose?

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

ok... all have different opinions....but, if u see, the forum is now taking a twist in some threads, that SAR will take over from where IR left! (arr is not even in the race!)
I want all IR fans to voice their personal opinions... who would u choose? Deva, SAR, ARR, Harris and Vidyasagar...
Of course, there are YSR and KR, but I believe, if ever u get to a low-point in life when u have NO IR music around? Please, no offense...I am curious.

  ok... my mistake... please lets include YSR and KR in the race becoz now i am confident my fellow df-ers wont give bonus points just based on anybody's back grounds but consider their music.. And one more request...please lets stay off our rhetorics..someone is irreplaceable, this guy is divine and someone sucks big time... that kinda statements...plz.... lets play ball!

  to me its not a single MD but i wud say
  ARR for many (means many type of songs)

  baradhwaj - unsung MD.

  If it is quantity, who does the most no of movie these days? My guess is Deva, but I cud be wrong.

  This piece of dung produces songs only and leaves the bgm to other two shits.
  
  He produces 5 to 6 songs in a movie which totals 30 mins. The bgm for an average movie is abt 1hr(to be modest).
  
  IR spents 1.5hrs for one movie(songs+bgm). This dung spends 0.5hrs for a movie. Therefore, if this dung needs to overtake IR, he has to do 3x what IR has done. In other words, this dung should have done abt 2400 movies by now.
  
  Leave alone quality....u think its possible?

So, I am really sorry abt it. I want to re-phrase what I have meant to say earlier. And really hope I have your input this time. That is:

  I will just answer your post.
  I think Deva is doing a marvelous job in BGM. I can immediately think of Vaali, Kaathal Kottai, Kalluri Vaasal, Avvai Shanmughi amongst others.
  It is true that Sabesh-Murali are part of the team and they have contributed immensely too.
  
  From the time of MSV (with Joseph Krishna) music directors have had assistants.
  However, with IR, no one knows who his working assistants were, simply because they were not credited. We also know that Gangai Amaran has played a big part. So your take on IR's role in a movie is a guess at the most.
  
  However, if numbers alone are your concern, then I don't think anyone in the present generation can overtake IR.

  Also, This thread, if u will care to notice, addressed mainly to raja fans, what with they being everywhere now in this df. But not exclusively. So non raja fans are posting naming the md who they would choose if their fav. MD, whoever it may be, wasnt around. At least. That was the idea and i thought it was evident.   Anyday anytime there is none to beat the Maestro Ilayaraaja. No one can even come near his spectrum. You name the music genre he has it composed. He is a genius. He just writes the music track for the musicians. No instruments. just writes it offhand. All the current music directors out together cannot equal Raaja. I think other MD's should even talk about carnatic as they are yet to begin their chapters. Can anyother MD dare to orchestrate a thyagaraaja keerthana.
