Who is the most Melodious MD? MSV Vs KVM Vs IR Vs ARR?

All times in EST +10:30 for IST.

1) KVM is well known for his Carnatic Abilities

2) MSV is well known for his "Mellisai" Abilities

3) IR is well known for his melodious tunes

4) ARR is well known for his Rhythm & Western music.

I feel that IR is the DON when it comes to everlasting melodies, although KVM + MSV were very melodius, I feel that their melodies were often similar or had some thing similar in it.

But IR's melodies were all unique, they are a very pleasent for the Ears,Heart & soul, IR + SPB combination is still in our hearts, some IR 's typical Melodies are;

1) Khadhalin deepam ondru - SPB
2) Illaya nila pozhigirathu - SPB
3) Nilave vaa - SPB
4) Vellai pora ondru - KJY
5) Raasathi unnai kaanathe nenju - P.jeyachandran, later clonned by S.A.Rajkumar in the song "Rosapu chinna rosapu".

6) Sundhari Kannal oru sethi - SPB +SJ
7) Oru sanam thongirichu - SJ
8) Oru raagam paadhal osai kaathil - KJY +SJ
9) Varam thantha sammiku - SPB +PS
10) Thulli thulli nee paadam ma seethaiyamma - SPB
11) Thulli thulli pogum penne sollikondru poonal enna - KJY
12) Mouna maana neram izha manthil- SPB +SJ

..... so on.

  Raghu its purely personal regarding everlasting melodies..personally my choice is IR..
  Nowadays i have a serious doubt that the music u grow with makes a everlasting impact on you..if your age is more than 25 and less than 38 u may be a IR fan..
  35 to 45 -- MSV+TKR or KVM fans???
  45 and above -- GRamanathan fans??
  less than 25 -- ARR or Deva or HJ fans(i am an exception..:-)))..

  A third exception here! Peeps, I understand how you came up with your theory, but I feel that it is purely one's musical refinement that is responsible for their particular selection of songs that have a timeless impact on them. IMO, the reason that most people consider the music prevalent when they were young to be the best is that when they get older, they contemptuously (and very unfairly) reject the music of newer MDs, dismissing them as being nowhere near as good as the older ones without giving them a fair hearing.
  
  I am 23, and it is my personal opinion that Ilayaraja is the master of them all, even though he could be considered kind of before my time, since I was in my early teens when ARR took hold.

  I am SPB fan, yeah I admit, I am also a BIG fan of IR, coming to this age issue, age got nothing to do with taste of music, I am 25 as well, 4 ur info, I think IR is the DON when it comes to Melody, I grew up listening to music composed by MSV, KVM, IR, & the singers like SPB, KJY, M.vasu, Jeyachandran, TMS, PBS, AMR, Ps, SJ, VJ, Chitra, Sailaja, Kishore kumar, Ghantasala, BMK, ..etc.
  
  I love true melody,hence my choice is IR, when ARR came into TFM, I was about 16 years old, I liked his songs very much, but not more than IR, IR songs last 4 ever, ARR songs are like seasonal greetings, it lasts for just the season, it then disappears so quickly, that it does not stay in our mind ( except a few songs, like Deut, Roja, Gentleman,..etc), but even now u love 2 listen to IR's "annakizhi unnai theduthu", by SJ. Can u deny that, do you think the environment that you grow up has an impact on your taste?
  
  BTW, deva fans, sorry I was not aware that he had any fans, well apart from Sirpy & Anu Malik, his fellow copy cats.

  IR cannot even touch the dust in MSV's feet and he himself will agree to this.

  Dei raghu, why do u think rahman's songs cant stand test of time? Just becos u don listen doesnt mean they cannot. And by the way, to prove ur point u cite "some" ( I assume some means more than one), from 3 films done by Rahman, and just one song by IR. Are u trying to contradict urself? And by the way, don bother to post a huge number of songs by IR now, I too accept he is one of the best MDs. I am only disagrreing with ur opinion on Rahman's music

  I have listen to each & every ARR songs, whether uit is Tamil/Hindi/Telegu, I have also listened to Majority of MSV, IR, KVM songs, I bet u have not even heard 10% of IR, MSV, KVM, but you are stupid enough to judge their talents without prior knowledge, Kadhavule.

  IR himself will not like comparing him with MSV and ARR will not like comparing him with IR. But people are very much happy to do that. Shall I suggest some more topics?
  1. Who used Naathaswaram much in their songs, MSV, IR or ARR?
  2. Who (MSV,IR,ARR) used more chorus singers?
  etc.
