Songs inspired or Copied FROM Tamil Film Music

We seem to be very critical of tfm directors of being inspired or copying from other sources as shown by the following thread.

Is originality a monopoly of people outside the tfm field or is exchange a two way street?
Please post any tunes inspired or copied by others from Tamil Film Music.

  in srilanka 50% of the sinhalese songs are 100% copied from tfm. 20% songs 100% cut paste hindhi songs. the rest of the songs are inspired songs.

  This is a very interesting topic! I don't have much to add here, but some interesting article, which may be slightly off topic. They don't have anything to do with inspiration from *TFM* as such, but from Carnatic music. In this case, the persons who were inspired were none other than Rabindranath Tagore and Ustad Abdul Karim Khan. Of course, this would be a case of inspiration and not blatant copying
  (as "interpreter" had explained to me on the "copied TFM songs" thread.)

  "Gita Bharati" was among the unique features that Doreswamy Iyengar put together for AIR. It juxtaposed the kritis of Thyagaraja and Muthuswami Dikshitar with the Bengali songs of Rabindranath Tagore, based on their musical structure. These unusual pieces had been composed by Tagore after his trip to southern India in the 1920s that included a visit to the Mysore court. Tagore had drawn inspiration from Carnatic compositions such as Needu charanamule (Simhendramadhyamam), Minakshi memudam (Purvikalyani) and Lavanya rama (Purnashadjam).

  To add to this, Ustad Vilayat Khan, I have read somewhere, is credited with the creation of raaga Madhuvanti in Hindustani classical. I would disagree with the creation part (adaptation to Hindustani music - yes). This raaga existed long ago in the South indian tradition. I immediately recall Mangambudhi Hanumantha, a Carnatic composition by Annamacharya (?), of which I have heard a recording by the venerable Sudha Raghunathan.
